I have to say, so much of our issues are down to confidence. Passes not played in front of players are a classic sign

Get the ball wide, get a cross in and attack the ball either a direct header/volley at goal or head ball it back across goal and have midfield runners attack! I can't see us finding a way through their middle while they sit back.
They're packing the centre of their defence because we have no width - missing Mane in games like this!

Take Sturridge off, bring Origi on. Play Firmino through the middle.

Take Can off, shoot him. Bring Wijnaldum on.

We've been really poor, we just don't look like scoring
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Our form for a few months had been dreadful.

                    This team needs pace.

True, but earlier in the season we drew 0-0 against Southampton.

yup and they defending our crosses with ease as the only width we have is from the full backs.

Can and Sturridge off? Origi and Wijnaldum on? Not sure we have any other cards to play... Unless Lucas can come on for his second in seven years...

                            Yeah, annoying but effective.

                            Moreno to make the difference

There's no way I'd take Sturridge off in a game like this. No way.

I don't think we were rubbish. We're showing the right kind of patience but we've let Soton off two or three times on the counter which we should be doing better. They are a quality side set up very well defensively. We only need a goal to square the tie, so we should believe that with a bit more incisiveness in our passing, at the same time keeping patient, we'll score. We need a bit of precision in that final third and try to get Lallana and Sturridge in and around the box, which hasn't happened yet.
                                Are we winning?
