Thanjk you.

The same team with the same players played on the front foot all season, at the same time having loads of possession. Why would the default to something which has gone 16 months ago?
Klopp likes to play possession football and the noticeable improvement since the start of the season has been our better control of the ball, compared to last year where it was a bit too gung ho at times (we were much more of a counter attacking team then). We're doing the same things as we did since the start of the season, but aren't sharp enough in and around the box anymore.
That should have said it's the default position when we don't press and have tempo
The only time we looked dangerous under Brendan was when we pressed high and moved the ball quickly. The moment we stopped that and went to the slow passing game it went to ****
I remember at the time you blamed the slower game on Suarez leaving
Klopp got the high tempo pressing and passing game back
Now it's gone and you blame confidence
So now which is it Suarez or confidence?
To me it's been an undercurrent for a few years. The slow build up crept into our play again during December and as that month went it'd started to become more and more prevailant even when we were getting results so I am not convinced it's down to confidence

I know alot of people have said that our problems come from Mane's absence, and while I would like to think that his return will see an up turn in our form but unfortunately I think that there is more to it. I think that we recently our high energy game has slowed down, perhaps we are tiring and don't have the quality to bring in. We are also less effective because teams have figured out ways to make us ineffective - putting men behind the ball allowing us alot of possesion - this effectively puts about 20 players in their half meaning there is no space for movement and quality attacking play and are able to get us to commit so many players forward we are susceptible to the counter attack.
We need players who have quality on the ball and are able to work in tight areas and under pressure, I don't think we have too many of those unfortunately.
The other thing we need to do is up the tempo, without a fast tempo our play seems to lack a purpose, if we can drag the oppositions 10 man defence out of position and create some space.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
But you can only press when we don't have the ball not when teams sit deep and surrender possession. All you need to do when this happens is try and keep your patience and pass with confidence in tight spaces or try and get around teams with crosses. The consistency of our passing has to improve.
Remember when we got beat by Chelsea which cost us the league? We just lost our patience and stopped doing the basics and got done on the counter.
Our current malaise is that when things go wrong, it goes really wrong. The atmosphere is on a knife's edge and it all quickly becomes a crisis.
Maybe we need to win ugly, get back our confidence and start again. The main criticism that I have is that our weakness on the counter attack and our concentration over the course of a full game hasn't been good enough. But we're on a journey and we need to be patient. At all costs.
When we're at our best we can defend and be relentless.

Agreed
IMO it's a combination of us not pressing with high tempo when we should and not passing quickly enough
Yes teams have worked out how to combat us by sitting deep but we are helping them out by not pressing when they have it and moving it far too slow when we do
Teams sitting back hasn't been just last 2 months. Other teams did it earlier in the season but we pressed high still with tempo and moved the ball quickly and created chances that won us games.
We've just gone into this malaise. Even when Mane was here we had slowed down and we're lacking tempo
Get back to pressing high and quick. It sets a tempo and sparks the passing game
If teams sit off and let us pass then speed the game up they won survive long if you move the ball quickly

Again you don't have the ball 100% of the time so you have to press with tempo
Pressing high with tempo even for the 20% the opposition has creates a state of mind
Set your tempo high with your pressure on the ball and your passing will be crisp
Don't put pressure on the ball and your game will be slow
To me it's not confidence it's mindset

I got off very early - you could see nothing was going to happen, and even if we had pulled it back to beat them, I'd still have been pissed off, so there would have been no winners for me.
What are you talking about. Listen, our best eleven is very good but let's not pretend that we have a squad worthy of a top 4 team. We have one wide forward in our first team squad for crying out loud and he's in Ghana. Don't get me started on our lack of full back cover either.
Lec is correct. We stopped intelligently pressing in December for reasons unknown. We got away with it for a while but not any more. I'm sure klopp is as perplexed as the rest of us because I'm quite sure he hasn't instructed them to drop off.
This has led to the collapse of our whole game.

I am sure I posted in here not long after the summer window closed that I didn't think we had brought in enough players
Now first part of season when everything was going well that wasn't noticed
Now when you want to mix it up and bring in and take out players it's painfully obvious we are short
Lots of work needed. If this was happening with 5 or 6 Klopp signings in the side I might worry more than I am now
