so only stevie has toplay where told!!

iverpool manager Rafael Benitez says he has no intention of converting Craig Bellamy into a winger.
The Spaniard was responding to suggestions that Bellamy would be better utilised on either the right or the left side of midfield.

"Bellamy is a striker. He likes to play as one of two strikers and he likes to run behind the defenders, so I think playing on the wing would be difficult for him," said Benitez.

"Some games this season he has played on the right or the left side but it's clear that he's more comfortable as a centre-forward.

Its clearer stevie wants to play in the middle and prefers it there!!

But Gerrard can be and has been equally effective on the right as he is in the middle.

The same can't be said of Bellamy whenever he's played on the flank.

I know he moves outs alot towards the wings when playing up front, but i cant really recall him playing as a winger.

Souness played him there for ages with the Barcodes. It was the beginning of the end of his career there.

Isn't this a case of double standards? He had no hesitation asking Cisse to play there. Unless he's learnt from the Cisse experience of course. Not that I want him to play strikers ut of position (I hate it!) but it does seem strange. Having said that we were short of wingers last season, something that does not apply this time round.

I suspect he just thought that Cisse was rubbish up front but that his pace would be useful on the wing. So as we had few options Cisse was played out wide, Bellamy isn't as a/ Rafa rates him up from and b/ thinks that Pennant gives us a better options on the right.

you do realise that Gerrard never actually stays out wide, he all ways drifts inside.....to the detriment of our play might i add......as a result of this the strikers have to drift wide to get the ball. Thats why we only ever have one player in the box when delivering crosses.

It is odd that although he comes off his wing he never seems to be in the box. One of the most infuriating parts of his play.

he's generally stuck in between the two positions.

Bellamy is the Welsh Danny Cadamarteri
