We are really lacking a consistent goal scorer who we can depend on.

It's understandable that he hasn't been his best since he's been back from injury. There's nothing to be concerned about. He'll be back.

        They can't both be 4th.
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I think it's our main problem. With the amount of chances we create every game, we should be scoring more. We did that at the start of the season. We're always likely to concede with the way we play, so it's crucial that we take our chances.

Good result. Origi looked like he'd been on from the start. Need a bigger squad. Thought defence were good. Can and winnie did very well

One of those draws where both teams will bemoan a number of moments that didn't go their way, but I suspect slightly more them than us.

Got to be pretty happy with a point away to City though given where that leaves us. I'm confident we can beat the bitters, it's all just about whether we can grind our way through the ****e teams to a CL place now.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp talking to Sky Sports: "To get a point at Manchester City for each team in the world is absolutely OK.

"There were a few situations where we couldn't defend their quality. We could have won this game, because we forced the goalkeeper into a few outstanding saves.

"We a phase between 50-70 where we had them and didn't close the game. We let them recover on the pitch, so they came back.

"They deserved the goal, but we could have scored more. Two highly motivated sides, both wanted to win until the last seconds."
                  This

Think some of this is down to difficulty maintaining our pressing, some of it is that we tactically haven't mastered playing more compact without completely ceding control, and a big part is also we have a very good first XI but weak squad. As a result we both rotate less between games, and have fewer quality players to come on to make an impact. Oh for another Mane!!!

                    Another bizarre post-match from Pep

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is pretty happy speaking to Sky Sports.

Asked how pleased he was with the performance, he said: “You cannot imagine. It is one of happiest days of my career as a manager. I am so proud.

“After the Champions League, the last few days at training people were so, so, sad, people don’t talk too much. We arrive here against Liverpool who have no Europe all season and one week to prepare. The spirit, how we played, it is one of my happiest days as a manager.

“We created more than them. Our problem is we don’t score when they are easy goals. At least we showed spirit that we didn’t show in the first half in Monaco.

“When you approach one game after 10 games winning nothing is special. You have to consider the situation we played this game, how we played against them, a top team - they have exceptional players – means a lot to me. That is why I am so happy."

Probably not weird if you take into consideration English is not his first language. Weird that people are making a fuss over it.

Can't fault Lallana for the number of times he saved us in that game. Others too.

Can was my Motm. I've given him a hard time but today I didn't feel like we missed Henderson at all.

Wijnaldum was very good. And once again Can was fantastic in a big game. If he can carry this type of form against the lower half teams he's a must to start imo

Overall I am happy with the result. Scum are away to Spurs, City, Arsenal and are home to Chelsea so they shouldn't get carried away about top 4 being in their hands
