    Ban from signing academy players

So the club has been banned from signing academy players from other English clubs after an illegal approach made to a Stoke player.

Now the club has to to focus on developing it's own academy players.

Doesn't say anything about foreign youngsters though, are there restriction in place about signing U-18's from other countries?

It will last two years, with the second year suspended for three years pending any further breaches.

The club will also pay a £100,000 fine in an episode which is sure to cause considerable embarrassment throughout the Anfield hierarchy.

        so 12 months then.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Ways and means around that , We can start tapping them up now to sign them in a year

Yup, just the one year and only domestic.

Sounds like the club essentially grassed themselves up by asking for a rule clarification, seems more of a bumble on our behalf than anything seriously shadey (whatever clearly insane Echo commenters think)
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.

What tale shall serve me here among
            Mine angry and defrauded young?

It does seem quite punitive from the FA, given that the breach was an innocent one given that particular rule had just been changed.
              Modifying post.

It will have no effect at all as the academy will just have more resources to sign lads from foreign teams now.

So the conveyor belt of 'talent' coming through will have to come from abroad. Oh, did dums.

This. Whole thing seems an absurd overreaction. Seems the rule, intended to protect young players, actually meant we ended up being forced to remove an offer and put the family in a difficult situation. Oops. :/

Hopefully it finally puts an end to us being tight cunts and we might actually go out and start spending some wedge.
