btw, i can highly recommend this stuff, its like a slightly oily leather treatment/polish that treats the leather and leaves a nice non greasy finish.

I use a different brand but a good dubbin works wonders for Doc Martens

Still doesn't mask our issues, top four would be amazing but it's going to be a challenge.

Other teams around us have their issues as well. I think you're a bit too pessimistic and it's blocking you from looking at it objectively. We're currently 3rd and in pole position and the 5th placed team is 9 points behind.
        Are we winning?

Plus the rest of the challengers have to play each other, they cannot all get maximum points.

We're in the driving seat for fourth based on points on the board and the Mancs have city, Chelsea, arsenal and spurs to play in their last 10 games and Arsenal have City, Spurs, United and Everton to play so these teams will take points off each other.

6 games left win 4 of them I fancy we'll have done it

We are in a decent position the 3rd place and 9 points ahead of 5th are true but a little misleading, City in 4th are a point behind with a game in hand and the Man Utd/Arsenal could be level with us on points, so it is still very tight. We have the advantage of the others having to play one another, but the games we have are exactly the ones we tend to slip up in. From this situation I would be disappointed if we didn't make the top 4 but there is a real possibility of that happening, we need to be on our game and getting results for the rest of the season.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Id take our position and run in ahead of both Manc teams and Arsenal.

And we're also finding some form right when it counts.

City and Arsenal have to play one another, plus Arsenal and the Mancs have to lay one another and there is a Manc derby to be played. So today's win gives us that bit of wriggle room as the three teams behind us cannot all get maximum points from their games in hand.

EDIT : Buzzo already mentioned that they cannot get max points

United and Arsenal will play their catch-up games late in the season. We are in a far better position than them as they still need to make up for this difference in points. It's in our hands.

We are in an unfortunate position due to lack of European football we need to trim the squad. We have chosen not to sign players that we might want to replace once we do get European football. We should aspire to be in a position that when we bring players of the quality of Phil and Bobby off the bench they are replacing players of the quality of Phil and Bobby. We're miles from that right now.

top four would be amazing but it's going to be a challenge.
Disagree on that. It's ours to lose.

9 points behind with 3 games in hand. BUT, any team in the country would rather have the points on the board than to play catch up. Different if you are 6 ahead and they have 3 games in hand but we ain't!

At this stage of the season that's a hell of a lot of points that our rivals will take off each other.

                        ---

Since the 2001/2 season the most points any club has needed to finish 4th is 73 (12/13 and 13/14 when Spurs and Everton finished 5th with 72 points). We have 63 already so well on the way to bettering the 72 tally.

With 75 points we should be home and dry.

Been great in the last two games that we have gone behind and came back to take the lead , with a weaker team in both cases.
