Stoke v Liverpool (A) Build Up & Match Thread

Saturday 8th April 3:00 pm kick off.

Ok Two away games coming up which will determine Champions League qualification .....First up Stoke......
    Klopp's presser today......
"We will give Coutinho all the time he needs. It will be really close.

Coutinho is still ill, but feels better. He's not been around Melwood since the game.

Both Henderson and Lallana are much better, but not back training yet. Sturridge is back, we will see for the weekend.
I don't think 65 points will be enough for top 4. We'll need to collect more points

We are pretty sure that Mané will need surgery.
on injuries: "I can't imagine the last time where everybody was fit. That's our life - not a problem, it's a fact.

If you would take out the players we've had missing for other teams then I'd be surprised if they played their best football.

We don't have enough experienced players, so we have to replace them with youth. In this moment, we can't change it

    Well, this will be something.

    Migs
    Clyne - Matip - Lovren - Milner
    Can - Lucas - Gini
    Origi - Firmino - Coutinho

Matip, Coutinho and Firmino have to man up and get better. They aren't allowed to miss out. We need Sturridge ready on the bench as well and Klopp has to brave and use TAA or Woodburn, not let the senior players hobble around the pitch. But these players we have also need find some guts and roll over someone, I can feel my anger boiling just writing about this ****ing lot.
    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Think we might see Klopp play TAA and Woodburn this weekend.

Stoke away feels like a tougher match up for us than Barca would right now.

Matip and Lovren are absolutely crucial.
        Modifying post.

Klopp's right that we have had some crazy injuries, but he needs to stop chatting **** with regards to other teams. Spurs have been through a full team of injuries, twice over. I couldn't even name a back four that's played regularly for Utd. The difference is those teams BUY players to cover for these eventualities whereas Klopp says, no its ok, we're fine.

Back to Stoke, the combo of Matip, Lovren and Lucas may actually serve us well again protecting us from the tall striker syndrome. Really need Coutinho and Firmino to be ready for this one and a trademark goal a game from Origi would be handy.
              One tit for another.

What Barca, are you joking?? We'd **** them up 4-1 at the least.

One funny thing about last pre-season, does anyone remember how we thrashed them 4-0 and then immediately lost with the same result to Mainz? I know we fielded two different teams in the space of less than 24 hours, but still... kinda prophetic as far as the season went

On another note - Matip, Lovren, Henderson, Lallana and Can - what to do with them? Very good if not brilliant players, but injured so much that you can never really rely on them. Coutinho and Mane don't strike me as the injury prone types, but even they were out for large portions of the season (not counting the African Cup, Mane was out for a while in August wasn't he?). Not even going to mention Sturridge.
What do you do in this position, you can't just replace the entire team spine hoping that the next batch of players won't be crocks. This is worse than Arsenal almost.
