****, so nervous, think we've got an amazing shot at top 4 even if we lose tonight but I'd rather not keep giving everyone else chances, they may take one eventually! It would be nice if we got to the Boro game and all we had to be concerned about was whether we finish 3rd or 4th. Don't think we could get 3rd any earlier given City's fixtures!

Mathmatically the only thing that will see us safe, as it stands right now, is 4 wins. 3 wins and a loss and it would be possible for Arsenal or Manchester United to catch us (although not both). City are level so they can also go ahead of us if we drop points.

United would need to get 10 pts from

Arsenal v Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United
Southampton v Manchester United
Manchester United v Crystal Palace

realistically they will do well to get 10 pts here, 6-8 pts a lot more likely.
they will end on 71-73 points imo.

Now looking at that fixture list, I am slightly more concerned on Arsenal than United as think they could win all there games......which puts them on 75 points also.

So if there has to be a positive result, Hope United beat Arsenal and then lose to Spurs.

Based on form it's hard to see Arsenal winning all of those games. If we can get to 75 points I genuinely think we'll have done enough for top 4

Yeah we would be catchable mathematically is we got 9 points, but would be difficult for two of the three chasing us to catch us on 75 points.



Arsenal can make 75 points if they win all five of their remaining games, but they would have GD to make up. Plus if Arsenal got 75 points then it would be impossible for the Mancs to do so.

The Mancs would pip us if they won all of their remain ing games as that would give them 77 points, but with away games for them at Spurs and Arsenal I really don't think they will claim maximum points or even the 10 points needed to finish on 75.

I know winning all four means we cannot be caught full stop, but my gut feeling is that we can do it with three wins and get to watch the Mancs whinging behind us.
