Games coming round thick and fast. Apparently the first league game is tonight between West Ham and Spurs!! Southampton play us at Anfield on Sunday and then Arsenal on Wednesday. Not looking forward to it as its at home (was at Anfield for the Palace game and it felt like our players gave no ****s whatsoever about it). However, win this game and top 4 is done so we must be able to muster some enthusiasm, Shirley?

Worth giving Grujic his first start ahead of Lucas? He has to play some time.
    One tit for another.

        'No pressure on Can contract'

Liverpool v Southampton (Sun, 12:30 BST)

Emre Can scored a wonder of an overhead kick on Monday and it's no surprise that Jurgen Klopp has been discussing the German's contract situation.

"After the bicycle kick everyone wants him to stay, " said Klopp. "It is no secret I like Emre. Absolutely no pressure.

"The plan is to make a more simple goal if possible in the next game. Against Palace he hit ball with his heel."

        'We need to be brave'

On Liverpoool's top four battle, he said: "Fighting for the top spots has been pretty much each game. Southampton are one of the best footballing sides in the league.

"For some people it is a nervy situation but we need to be brave and enjoy the game.

"Our plan for Sunday is to use Anfield. We need to be brave, enjoy the game and use the crowd."

Philippe Coutinho went off early in the 1-0 win against Watford on Monday.

Jurgen Klopp says the Brazilian's fitness looks "positive" for the weekend, adding that the forward was "running yesterday".

Danny Ings, who has missed of the season with a knee injury, is now training with the ball now and "in a good way", according to Klopp.

But the German says there is no news on the injured Jordan Henderson, who has not played since February.

'Daniel's very important to us - he can decide a game in a second'

Daniel Sturridge’s bright cameo at Watford pleased Jürgen Klopp, and the Liverpool manager believes the striker has an important role to play for his team in the closing weeks of the season.

Sturridge, who missed the Reds’ previous outing against Crystal Palace due to a hip problem, looked sharp as a late substitute during Monday's crucial 1-0 victory at Vicarage Road.

Klopp was impressed by the England international’s display and, with just three games of the campaign remaining, thinks he can help secure Champions League qualification for Liverpool.

“It was very good, very good. A wonderful chance and two more good situations in a really short period,” the boss said, when asked about Sturridge's performance versus Watford.

“It’s not that we could say he is at 100 per cent, he is doing what we think is right for him to keep him on track for these last three games.

“[We’ve had] very good talks, we’re really close in the moment. [He’s doing] something different today then training with the team tomorrow and all that stuff. As long as it’s like this we can for sure have him and use him in the squad, that’s the most important thing.

“Then we have to see which line-up we start with and then how long he can go, but in this moment it’s very, very important that we have him as an option on the bench and can bring him in because, how everybody knows, he can decide a game in a second.

“So that’s very, very positive and hopefully it stays like this.”

Boss: Lucas is in a very good moment for us

Jürgen Klopp isn’t surprised by Lucas Leiva’s recent run of excellent form, admitting he’s never doubted the Brazilian’s qualities.

The 30-year-old has claimed three assists in his last five games for Liverpool – most recently on Monday evening at Watford when his pinpoint ball into the area allowed Emre Can to execute his stunning overhead kick.

May 11 will mark 10 years to the day Lucas originally signed for the Reds, and the club recently held a dinner at Anfield in honour of his decade of service.

And Klopp has praised the No.21’s displays in helping his side maintain their push for a top-four finish by highlighting his importance to the team.

He told his pre-Southampton press conference at Melwood: “Lucas was never in doubt – for me, never in doubt. It’s now more a countable outcome – I heard about three assists in his last five games or something like this!

“He is in a good moment and is very important for us. The club showed his best side, the best face, when we celebrated his 10 years. I must say, I was never part of something like this; it was a real sign of respect, a real sign of the size of the club and the importance of the player.

“He is in his best shape, so is very important for us. But like with all of the other players, these games are gone and we have to be focused on the next game and be ready to deliver again, to perform again and make two goals or whatever. That’s not forbidden.

“There is a lot of space for improvement for all of us, so that is what we are focused on.”

Jürgen Klopp on LFC injury latest: Coutinho, Mane, Henderson and Ings

Jürgen Klopp offered an update on the latest condition of his Liverpool squad ahead of this Sunday's Premier League encounter with Southampton.

The manager revealed Philippe Coutinho is on course to come back into contention for the crucial Anfield fixture after sustaining a thigh injury at Watford on Monday night.

Elsewhere, Klopp indicated Sadio Mane and Danny Ings are making good progress in their recoveries from long-term issues, but there is no fresh news on a return for Jordan Henderson.

He told reporters at Melwood: “Phil yesterday was running for the first time – he looked a little bit like John Achterberg, but it’s good news! We cannot be 100 per cent sure because we always have to wait to see how he improves, but in this moment, it looks rather positive.

“Mane is doing really well but there is no chance [for Southampton]. He is around [Melwood] and everything has really went well so far.

“It’s not exactly the same with Hendo; there is nothing new. That’s the thing with this [injury], you have to wait – especially he has to wait, but it is quite difficult like this. So there is nothing new about this.

“Ingsy is doing well, really well. He is enjoying training now for the first time with the ball a little bit and all that stuff. He is on a good way.”

Klopp definitely giving Hendo a bit of a free ride. A good manager like Mourinho would be telling him to man the **** up and cut his foot off if his heel is that sore.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Worrying for him, seems like no one knows what is happening.

Interesting that he would say Mané won't make Southampton, I thought he was out for the season?
