I think Klopp's first priority was not to lose and hope to nick it with a bit of magic or a set piece and it nearly worked. Southampton are no mugs and we are not in the best of form so a draw isn't the end of the world given the games United and Arsenal have left.

The real disappointing thing is that we have picked up just 2 points from our last 3 games at home vs Bournmouth, Palace and now Southampton. One win from that lot would have us home and hosed now.

2 wins and we are in but 4 points might even be enough - he needs to drop Lucas and Origi for Lallana and Sturridge in the next two games. Studge in particular has looked really sharp in his two cameos and we need potential match winners in our team.

We also need more intensity from the get go - our players talk about 3 cup finals but are playing like pre season friendlies

don't we have sprinklers? well yes actually we do and they turned one on at half time on the half way line if the pitch was dry why didn't they turn them all on for the 15 minute break, **** sake don't use that as an excuse when you have the equipment to put it right

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Totally agree. I think the most worrying aspect is how many upgrades we need. The defence still needs sorting out. Even with Southampton hardly ventured into our half, you still feared we would get done. And we need more quality in midfield and in attack.

We had no urgency today at all, considering we really could have made a major stride to CL qualification, playing before the Arse and Scum. So many average performances.

I worry if we totally screw up the chance the get CL football, it could really set us back, by not able to compete for the better players in the Summer.

Zaha.......would be fantastic with a bit of Klopp coaching

Not looking forward to it as its at home (was at Anfield for the Palace game and it felt like our players gave no ****s whatsoever about it). However, win this game and top 4 is done so we must be able to muster some enthusiasm, Shirley?

Worth giving Grujic his first start ahead of Lucas? He has to play some time.

Do we have any creative players that could have set the tempo from the start?

                        Anyone?

Call him anything you like but boring isn't a word you can use!

He's a mad sub that causes chaos in the opposition defence and doesn't keep chucking dull sideways passes.

That was some vapid stuff from us but not unexpected. The most depressing thing is that the negative patterns that emerged early in the season have been allowed to take root and have not been addressed, either in the January transfer window or on the training field. The question marks are mounting over Klopp now and a failure to reach the CL will tie his hands somewhat in the summer and have real ramifications for his project.
So entrenched in our bad habits, it's incredible at this level; the moribund attacking performances against deep-sitting teams, the tremulous nature of our goalkeeping and defending when teams go at us even a little, the regularity with which we beat the big boys in high-energy performances and then wilt like limp lettuce against the minnows, that simultaneously both relieves and exacerbates the one-step-forward-and-two-back gloom around the club. Either an arrogance, incapability or a reluctance to spend money...or a combination of the above, has us where we are, game after game, getting gift horses from City, Man U and Arsenal, looking them in the mouth before slapping them on the haunches and sending them right back to them. If we make top four it will come with absolutely no glory.

There was a lot of confidence on here a few weeks ago, looking at our run-in but it filled me with dread and those chickens are coming home to roost now. The only upside is that the teams around us have their own problems.

Final word, leave off Milner FFS. One of our most solid, dependable performers all season who had the balls to step up and hit a perfectly decent penalty that the goalie guessed right on and kept out. Forster's antics had nothing to do with it either. **** happens, leave off the guy, if anyone wants to vent there are more obvious targets than him.

Certainly wasn't a **** penalty, keeper just got lucky.
