We already have the Shankly Gates, and I'm sure Bob will get recognition.

But Kenny is iconic, think of some of his goals (and pics of him like the one above) it's a great story to tell and a player is someone who kids can connect with and find out about more easily than a manager.

In terms of marketing, which this is all about, then King Kenny is the right choice.
