Hoffenheim V Liverpool 15/08/2017 CL Qualifier 1st Leg

Just read today that Hoffenheim scored the most set piece goals last year in the Bundesliga. Not a great stat given what happened yesterday.

Would go with pretty much the same line up, but have Milner in for Moreno. Would be great to keep them scoreless.

    Hopefully Sturridge makes the bench.

We just need to score, nil nil would be dangerous for us IMO. Think we can win this but even a 2-1 loss would not be the end of the world...1-0 loss could be.

Definitely take a 0-0 is over a defeat on this one. Naturally I'm hoping we win of course

Whatever the result I hope we play Countinho. Even if he really is injured stick him on for the last couple of mins.

Every side that plays us will be looking at set pieces as a way to score against us. Our kryptonite

No Phil and Sturridge still not in squad. Phil's back must be hurting doing all that driving to and from Melwood.

Could be a roller coster two games against this lot. They are a good strong team who technically are good, and they are good at set pieces and very prone to targetting the other team's mdfield so they can attack through the centre.

One positive about them is that whilst a lot of our weakness are in areas they are strong, a lot of their weaknesses as in areas we are strong. They seem to be vunerable to players that cut in from the wings and we have two guys very good at that, and they have a very big habit of switching off after scoring. Pace is something that they leave themselves open to as well and with Salah and Mane in the team that is another area we can get at them through.

Lot of guys six foot and over in their team and on their bench, and we will need Can and Henderson to be ready to scrap hard in both games.

Have a feeling they will look at us and see this as a 50/50 game, and to be honest that would be my take as well. The straw I am clutching at there is that they were good enough last season to be a top 6 or top 7 EPL team, and doing well against teams of that level is something we do very well.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Just seen the squad that's travelled to Germany, we aren't going through tbh.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Yep, we dont have one player that would even make their bench.

What TV channel do we have to endure this on?

I've never known this site to be more miserable.

At least during the Hodgson era it was with some justification.
