It's always particularly good to **** over an Italian team.
That said I still think in the case of Roma it probably just about evens things up given the wedges of cash we gave them for Aquilani and Borini
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
By my reckoning, we would have 13 points less without him and our GD would be 24 goals worse off without his goals and assists.
My way of coming to this total was to remove all his goals and assists from the games he played on in the league, and our results are 13 points worse off without him.
Games where the points tally did not change without his goals/assists, a la the 3-0 win against Southampton in which he got two goals, are not included.
So 34 points and a Goal difference of +1 is our tally without Salah.
Labour Red was very close with his chasing Burnley comment.
We would be level on points with Burnley but ahead of them on goal difference. So seventh place.

Someone else would have been playing and done something instead (assuming we didn't start Markovic instead, in which case you'd be spot on)
It is indeed a worst case and simplistic take, but it also does not take into accounts games in which Salah harrying the defence left openings for others to score.
And looking through our back ups, I cannot see many that would have provided the 24 goals that Salah was involved in in the league (be it scoring or assisting)
