3 seasons in a row putting up with this type of **** from him.

        How dare he?

Could have have had 20+ assists, but oh no, he had to go and score 10+ for himself!

        Disgraceful!

He's been incredible for us and you can certainly argue he can still score goals but his performances in 2024 have been mostly abject, his work rate is poor and he cannot beat a man anymore. If we can get a big fee, we'd be crazy not to take it.

I thought he was decent yesterday, but he has not had a good season. I can see the new manager wanting him and finding a role for him, but for 300k a week, an expectation of starting, and the potential for a decent fee, I don't think him staying makes sense for us.

Yeah it's a big call because of his production but if we want to be a dynamic attacking side, I don't think it works with him and Edwards imo won't be afraid to sell if he thinks the finances are better served with him gone. I'm dubious about all our forwards to be honest. Mo scores goals but all round game is poor, can't go by a man and speed gone, Nunez and Diaz talented but a bit scatterbrained, Gakpo also talented but missing something from his game and Jota who cannot be relied upon to stay fit. Szob is one I thought could potentially replace Mo in that position but I his drop off has been spectacular.

He’s had the post Afcon slump again, exacerbated by injury this time.

I wouldn’t be against selling for a good fee, but he’s still the only forward we have who I’d back to hit in or around 20 PL goals next season.

He's got a decent pass on him, and seems to have a great eye for space. But often seems totally isolated within the formation. He and harvey linked up well yesterday. We cannot get the ball to him in space - and yes, his pace is not as explosive now when we do.

Agree on the above - the only forward that could post the same sort of figures is Jota, but he is always injured.

I can see him seeing out the final year of his contract with us.

Yes I’d back Jota to hit 20 PL goals if he could stay fit for around 80% of the season, but that’s the issue with him. I doubt he’d get anything like Salah’s assists though.

What I find interesting about our forwards, is that on paper they have all chipped in with goals/assists & we create so much but when you watch us, imo though there is something missing from a cohesion perspective. With the old guard Mane/Firmino/Mo there was a genuine connection right across the line, the lads would hunt in packs, relentless pressing & they just had an almost telepathic connection right across the line and even with the midfield & each player would feed off that. Everyone seemed to be working in unison whereas the current lads, it just feels like something is just missing.

                        Basic cohesion.

We constantly look like a team that only met as individuals on the day of the game.

Throw in a few regularly lackadaisical performers amongst the so called leader group, and it stinks of complacency.

Maybe instead of being called Mentality monsters something like mentality midgets or complacency monsters would suit more.

Arsenal were roundly mocked round thses parts last season for being bottlers.

When we had things in our own hands this season or even when we were still well in the hunt, we just choked again and again and it seemed to conicide with some of the younger players being dropped and/or getting injured and the return of the "dependable" senior players.

No doubt come the summer, and once Klopp is gone, we will have some of the senior players giving interviews stating how Klopp leaving is the excuse as to why they bottled it. Despite the fact that a number of them were putting in mixed perfromances long before Klopp told the players he was leaving at the end of the season.

Same goes for any of the ones that try to use the new manager as an excuse as to why new contracts are not signed yet. You either want to play for Liverpool or not. If it is not, then just be honest and look for the move to elsewhere. Would have much more respect for any player that hands in a transfer request than the ones that look for a move but try to spin it that they are also loyal to the club.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Is that the recruitment and picking players they want, Klopp and his coaches, rather than using the old system for how we would find players to fit the system?
There is clear talent but they don’t fit together like the previous teams did. Look at the forwards, we have so many players that favour the left side but none for the right apart from Mo.

Personally I don't think it had anything to do with bottle. Because we keep letting in the first goal we had to play too many games at full throttle for 90 minutes - a theme of this season had been very energetic second halves. Then all the injuries etc in Jan and Feb meant more full throttle. Some of the players (Endo and Slobbo were the most obvious candidates, but Virg's performances dipped too and Ibu has not looked right for a while) were exhausted. It is always difficult for players returning from injury late in the season to find form and that proved the case with Curtis and Mo (Trent is just Trent), which created further issues. It was really a matter of how long would it be before it went pear-shaped, not whether it would go pear-shaped.
