Completely agree with this, but he hasn't take any responsibility, that's my issue with his statement.

He's just blamed the change in style

These things don’t happen in a controlled / content dressing rooms. It just confirms what we all suspected.

No they are not mutually exclusive, but at the same time it does not in any way resolve that person from being a big part of the problem and from criticism coming their way as a result.

So yes someone who is part of the very issue they are complaining about can open their mouth, but for me that then only highlights how poorly said individual did as well.

Plus given the way he has used the media and tantrums in the past it is difficult not to see it as being at worst a potentially self serving action or at best a petty dig on the way out.

There is no hint of "I" or "We" in his statement. Guess "I" and "We" only comes into it when there is glory to be shared about but when things go to **** it is deflect and pass the buck entirely

Guess I just see it as lacking in class a bit. Could not imagine someone like Klopp looking at things and coming out and making some sort of statement even though he is not at the club any more.

Plus are the fanbase so thick that they need a social media post to explain things to them? Would like to think as a whole we are not.

For the record I have a similar issue with Slot for some of the way he talks about defeats and poor form. Think there needed to be more of the public attitude from players of "we win as a unit and we lose as a unit", so a shared responsibility in public, with the coach then going a bit further in interviews by saying "I" pick the team so "I" take responsibility.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Not explicitly saying “I take responsibility too” doesn’t suddenly mean he thinks he was flawless. We already know he’s part of the team and shares responsibility.

Is just a differing opinions here on it.

Some think he is right to say what he did. I just think it was classless and self serving regardless of the fact there is truth to the actual words.

If he came out and said the exact same thing but left it until after the last game, until after he left, then I might be a bit less critical, but I think the timing stinks and that just adds to my opinion that is it self serving with the timing before he gets his big send off at the weekend.

Another side to the Salah comments could be he has tried, or players have tried, talking to the higher ups and are being dismissed so the only option was to go and post things publicly.

I don’t know who they can talk to or get the chance to talk to but maybe it’s a message to the fans or people at the club higher ups that they don’t get a chance to talk to the players aren’t happy. It’s three players who are going who posted about standards. Who knows just an idea that popped in the head.

Different focus innit. Some people are saying that he’s bang on, his points were factually true, and him saying is if beneficial to the situation and thus the club. The position that he’s being unprofessional, classless, diverting from his own failings is not a counter position. I agree with both positions, but I care more about the former because it’s of more consequence.

Yes I think that's fair, and where most of us are. A bit of a dick move from Salah in some ways, but if it helps move the club forward, it might be a good thing he did it

I just would have liked him to also own it a bit more - even something as simple as acknowledging his peformances at time have been a bit below his own expectations

I think he’s been ****e all year and in full greedy Mo mode.
His post is one of the few positives from his last season with us.

this is exactly where I am. Mo is gone, 100% with the timing and tone, he has personal issues with Slot. I would hazard a guess he blames Slots tactics and style for his under whelming final season & to be honest, there maybe some truth in that, as the drop off has been staggering across the roster. But yeah I'm glad it has been said out in the open, by a club legend and backed by many of the players. Would I preferred if he said it after the Brentford game? Yup but it really needed to be said, as Slot has come across as tone deaf and hasn't taken any responsibility for what a disaster this season has been, not only in performances and results but in terms of direction and the lack of any sort of identity. It's the most bizarre season I have witnessed since I've been supporting the club.

I think him doing it whilst he is still part of the club and potentially sacrificing his last game as part of this adds to the power of the move.

He’s clearly doing it with the backing of the squad, which suggests things are worse internally than we imagine.

The only season that comes close to this is the Hodgson season. That was ****ing mental - an absolute disaster from the moment he was suggested.

What makes this even harder is under Hodgson we had horrible owners, a terrible squad and no money. This I happening after winning the league, bringing some top talent on top of what we had with great owners. Add in City aren’t what they were anymore and it felt like the chance to win more.

Pep leaving, the others no where near as good it feels sticking with him just wastes a big opportunity. Get rid of him and I can see the right guy having us up there again soon with the right signings. It doesn’t need a lot to get this team going especially if they are allowed to play and setup to win games.
