Big season for Mo next year, so much expectation and pressure to get near to this seasons levels. IMO you have to do it for more than one season to be considered world class, he is putting is world class performances this season though no doubts but maybe to be considered a 'world class' footballer it might have to be over a more sustained period.

Magnificent player though.

If you can hit a 90th Minute pelanty for Egypt you can cope with expectation and pressure. think he will thrive next season every bit as much as he has.

Definitely expect him to be more Messi than Marcus Stewart

It is what it is. Unfair to expect to use this season as a benchmark. If he'd scored 15 this season he'd have been considered a success so would 15 next season be acceptable?

He may have to get 20 to be “successful” next season. But the way he plays he makes each run, each finish, each move & each dribble look instinctive & natural so i believe he will continue this next year & beyond and hope with additional quality into the team will only support his performances

FWIW I think he'll score similar numbers too and under 20 would be disappointing but at the same time he's a victim of his own success

Lets hope so, we've seen purple patches before with Vardy/Clive Allen etc but as others have said above, this seems to be down to inherent quality rather than luck and rhythm

In the 23 years that the PL has been 38 games only 6 times has someone scored 30 or more PL goals. So if Salah makes 30 league goals this year that is a remarkable achievement.

A lot of people try to judge strikers by their ability to get 20+ PL goals a season, in the same period only 57 times has a player score 20 or more PL goals in a season, and only 11 players have ever scored 20+ PL games in more than 1 season. So a player that can do that is in fact quite rare. Players that have done it: Shearer, Hasselbaink, Henry, van Nistelrooy, Drogba, Rooney, Tevez, Aguero, Suarez, Kane and Costa.

Didn't even control it. Ridiculously difficult technique. In fact one of the hardest goal scoring shot you could hope to try from that distance. You can't just flash at it like a volley or a bicycle kick.

I get that but don't understand what it is that Dan does that deserves such vitriol. Some of the abuse levelled at him by Chazza, Lee and others caught me by surprise and I never understood it. It wasn't just you it was fairly orchestrated

I agree. Dan Perkins seems a good egg who basically likes his football.
