Yup. I know i called him around that time as well. And wanted him the second time around. I might have thought the same of players like Turan in my time also and **** knows who else.

I had a quick look, I never mentioned him when at Basel.

While searching I stumbled across a discussion from March last year about how great Chelsea's transfer dealings are compared to ours. What a difference 12 months make.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Bit of an odd programme for C4 last night. They don't normally do sports programmes, let alone profiles like that.

But the penny dropped when I saw the closing credits - narrator was Paul Hollywood. They're obviously trying to get their money's worth out of that big Bake Off contract that he's on. He's gonna be the new Jimmy Carr.
        Oh I don't know.

Yeah there was something off about that documentary. Was it about our CL run? Was it about Mo? Was it about religion in football? It was a mish mash. No sustained mention of his PL exploits. Wonder if there is another programme on Mo that Sky/BT might have which prohibits anyone else from showing the PL angle?
          One tit for another.

They were chatting about it on The Anfield Wrap - it was only commissioned after the 1st Roma game. So it's been a real rush to get it out.

Didn't have the rights to the PL goals, only CL as the firm that made the film are linked with BT. Hence Lineker, Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand, McManaman etc.

Wasn't enough of his background imo, not enough Egypt stuff.

He'd been hanging around with Agger and Clyne apparently

It's not a C4 production, it was made by Gary Lineker's production company, Goalhanger Films. As of C4 would make that just to get some value out of Paul Hollywood!

                            I loved it.

Imagine the fume from all the other clubs.

Man City won the league with record points and goals. Nobody gives a **** though The amount of press we have been getting since we beat them in the league has been amazing.

So getting a doc about Mo and the CL run on primetime TV was awesome. I liked it.

Interesting to hear 'Lamps' quite accurately sum up where it went wrong for Mo at Chelsea.

I hadn't really considered how much good Mo was doing in helping to address the Muslim narrative until last night either. Managing to put himself forward as high profile Muslim, and a positive role model in western society, in the days of Brexit and Ukip is quite something.

                            Change is coming.
