Yep, the narrative around him that a lot of our own are happy to spread is weird. Always some drivel with him, remember the "doesn't smile when he scores" crap? If Wijnaldum didn't get a nose bleed infront of goal he walks off yesterday with 2 assists. Run himself in to the ground once again, was a massive threat once again, all the more impressive given defenders are seemingly allowed to grab him round the neck to try and stop him without punishment. Can't remember when that started becoming a thing but it's happening in most games now and really irritating.

If we are scrapping over who gets chances at 3-0 up then I think it’s a great sign.

Salah, undoubtedly is the most single minded of the three in front of goal. But, where would we be without that single mindedness?

For those Mane stills showing him not passing to Salah, anyone who has played football will know the context that Mane is deliberately not passing to a greedy sod (Salah) because Salah has been and is a greedy sod.

Hope they can all sort it out behind closed doors and there's no more bad feelings. Like mentioned above this is the best forward trio we have ever had. In the best Liverpool team I have ever seen.

Competive guys who like to win and who at times are so confident in their own ability that they will have a crack rather than taking the easier pass.


There will be plenty of examples as the season rolls on of Salah playing a peach of a ball to get someone else in on goal, or Mane doing the same. And there will be plenty of times when one of them plays the other in.

the Salah fanboys on twitter are mad. The Mane Everton chance where he should have passed is from 2017 and about 90 games ago and he was rightly slaughtered for it at the time.

Hogging / selfishness / whatever, is never going to be an issue in a game against crud like Burnley where chances regularly come along. It's the really tight matches when there are very few that these things are going to matter.

And I'm talking about all players here not necessarily just S and M.

Yeah it was an accidental assist, he was trying to get the shot off himself.

I think he is a bit selfish, but I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. All great goalscorers are that way.

I think Mane overreacted but again I don't think it's a big issue. Happens all the time.

It does show how freakishly unselfish Firmino is though! What a player he is, truly something special.

It's only a problem if it negatively affects our play. I'm not bothered by their egos - but if they stop playing for each other, that's not good for the team. It needs nipping int' bud.

Does his "selfishness" kick in once a game is dead and buried and he's desperate to get on the scoreboard himself, or is he doing it when it's a tight nil-nil? Most of the ones I remember are when the game is over, or as good as, but when the team are probing for openings he seems a lot more inclined to pass.
