I think he want the legacy, that’s why I think we will find compromise.

It all feels very Gini to me.

Then he needs to be sold in the summer - it will hurt like hell but hopefully our recruitment gurus can do a Coutinho style situation

I’ve no doubt Mo will excel where he goes but we can’t pander to him and upset the balance. None of us know what’s on the table, both dudes are playing the media but Mo must know that we are not the club that pays astronomical wages. If that is really what he cares about (I doubt it) then he needs to replace Mbappe at PSG

The club won’t sell. He’ll go for free. Fine by me as we’ll have time to plan his succession.
            Are we winning?

With Can, Gini (and Duncan ), we couldn't find a compromise when it got to this stage. Do we have any examples of players we did convince to sign after long drawn out negotiations, particularly once the became so public?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I presume Salah's side know what is most likely to happen now, so are trying to pin the blame on the club. I'm not sure Mo replacing Mahrez would be his dream move...Although he might get to play with Haaland. Or it is the mind-numbing tedium of Ligue 1.

Gerrard is the only one I can think of, and that’s not really comparable.

Henderson - when the Athletic published an article that he was high on the list of both PSG and Atleti the club jumped……

I was sure he’d sign but not so sure now….. as long as it doesn’t impact his performance then it needs to come to a head in the summer one way or another. I trust the club to spend the money well if he is sold

I still think he will sign.

This is negotiation being played out loosely in public. The only thing that has changed since last week is his agent/lawyer posting 7 laughing emojis on Twitter FFS. We haven't had any other info than that and it has lead to absolute panic stations.

The difference with this and Gini is that Gini was not banging in 20 goals a season. Goals are the3 most precious commodity in football and we have a guy that scores and loves scoring them. Salah has underpinned the single most succesfull period in the last 30 years of the club. He is a rational guy settled in a team literally designed around him. I can only see an agreement being reached.

Think he will sign also, but I reckon that even if he does not then Klopp and the laptop gang will use the proceeds from a sale to strengthen the first tem even further.

Said it earlier in the thread that whilst Salah may not be replaceable in a like for like manner, I do think if we replaced him (using funds raised by his sale and from the wages freed up) with two first team starters the team might actually be stronger as a unit.

Time will tell either way but come the start of next season and the season after that I do not think we will have a first team that is weaker than our current team.
