He's getting a lot less assistance than he did two years ago.
Disagree. He still has no clue how use his right foot. He got plenty of the ball today especially in the first half in the inside third near the 18, but when you do the same thing everytime the defenders will read you.

this. Salah always seems to need a second touch to get it on his left. He's great of course, but this is a genuine flaw I feel.
        Really?

Coming off for a young lad it's a terrible example

We played better when mo went off. I agree he got a lot of stuff wrong but none of the players could have any qualms about being hooked.

He got plenty of the ball but he generally has two defenders on him and no back up. A couple of years ago they had the movement of Firmino and Mane to worry about as well as players bursting from midfield. I think he's incredibly isolated at the moment which means it's easy to counteract him. We keep expect him to be dribbling through entire defences but you need to be pulling them apart with other players to make that happen. I saw it all last season as well. Long, slow ball out to Mo and expect him to work wonders with it. It's very easy for other teams to work out what to do with that. In fact, in general our attackers seem to be working in isolation lots of the time.

There are plenty of explanations as to why he’s not destroying teams seemingly single-handedly these days, and most probably aren’t to do with him, but one thing stands out to me is that his shooting ability has fallen off a cliff. There was a great chance yesterday that he pea-rollered into the legs of defenders when a few years ago it wouldn’t have floated into the top corner. He gets chances that and you think that a world class goal-scorer would do something special with, be he never really does anymore. Where are the great strikes, chips, top corner curlers?

He did hit the bar yesterday, and score but was just offside. He then had those 2 other chances where he made wrong choices, and tried to squeeze a shot through when he was heavily marked. But the fact that he is still getting in position for 4-5 chances is good news.

He looked razor sharp for the first 25 mins, and was a big part of our early dominance, including a sublime assist.

I'd not have subbed him off yesterday personally. Seemed a random move when we had the chance to get a win and we did make chances in the last 10 mins.

For me, as ever he is not even close to being one of our issues. And personally I love that he has this winning attitude and hunger to score goals.

I think we’d given up on winning by then tbh.

Well, yeah. If only Darwin had a more delicate touch. That was the chance… what a moment that was.

Poor ball from Allister. It should have been on the ground to his feet, not waist high

Strikers don’t get to choose the pass, they have to finish it. He had space and could have volleyed it, headed it, chested it down, he tried to cushion it in front of him and got it wrong. But **** happens, it was just one incident, he looked pretty lively and the one deflected for a corner was great play.
