Yeah if I had any criticism of his physique (aside from chronic jealousy ), it'd be that he's too strong nowadays and has lost a bit of his acceleration as a result.

I'm no expert though and the club would be all over that sort of stuff, so my armchair punditry is probably not very valid

It’s a fair shout but I think it’s also a way that pacey players protect themselves as they get older

Strength is not the reason he's lost his acceleration. He's not bulky or overly muscular. He's simply just getting old and has been running his arse off for us for 6 seasons. It's going to take a toll.

Yeah it's an interesting one, and you're probably right. I did notice Anthony Gordon in his interview with Gary Neville say he deliberately avoids bulking up in the gym for that very reason and it got me thinking.
