Actually enjoy him banging goals in. Its all the stuff he doesn't do well anymore that annoys me + being immune to being subbed no matter how ****e he's playing.

Having put pen to paper on a new two-year contract announced on Friday, the Egyptian has agreed a deal worth up to £50 million.

According to the Telegraph‘s Chris Bascombe, if all bonuses and clauses are met Salah will earn around £25 million per season, which works out at £480,000 per week.

Salah’s basic wage is unknown at this stage but this would suggest it is an increase on the £350,000-a-week deal he agreed in 2022.

I’ve seen others mention this but could he play a different role next season? When older players lose that pace you can shift them to a new position where they can still have a positive impact.

From my POV, why would you change the position of the most productive player we have? Isn’t he involved in something like 54% of every goal we score? What we need is a forward line which carries more of a % threat as opposed to sporadic across centre forward and left wing. The other factor is (touch wood) he is always available.

It would be bold to remove a player from a position where he has scored 27 and assisted 17 so far this season.

It would be bold for sure. My issue is that our attacking plays is geared to finding Mo on the right, it's become predictable

The upside from moving him into the centre into a more Firmino style role (but with better finishing) would be to replace him on the right with a flying wide forward who would hopefully give us a lot more unpredictability in attack

Pleased with this as the thought of losing 3 of our best players on free transfers , all at the same time would have been pretty bad. Hopefully Virg is next.

Happy it's all sorted but if it is £480,000 pw as Bascombe says, to a near 33 year old... Yeah that's is ****ing nuts. Maybe the Saudis come in next season and we use that new contract to sell if things are going tits up. VvD imo is essential, so happy if we do sign him up.

I hope we do have to pay him that 480k a week because it will mean we have won stuff
