You're not saying there is or isn't a split, but you're doing your best to rationalise one? Is that it? Here's my rationalisation of the situation: The vast majority of the dressing room will be delighted to see Salah go, and will have a non-stop 48 hour party to celebrate the departure of a dude that thinks he is way, way bigger than the Club.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostNot saying there is or there isn't, we don't usually have this type of info being leaked from LFC, but we rarely (in recent years) have had good players who have had fall outs with the managers (there have been a few like Balotelli or Diouf who you suspect not many people would side with).
Salah has obviously been a big player for us in recent years and is popular in the dressing room and is one of the leadership group, the manager is relatively new, so I suspect there could be a difficult dynamic in there. Perhaps not so much people pushing that Salah should be in the side but perhaps split loyalties which wouldn't help.
Salah had a bust up with Klopp on the touch line, so he's not backward in coming forward and letting people know what he's about, which is HIM.

But he isn’t the third highest scorer in the history of the club and a key figure in our most recent successes. Salah should not have spoken out but he said that the manager is not speaking to him. The guy is a legend and deserves respect while he feels he is not getting, for him to go to the press shows dysfunction.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostGakpo has been on the bench and hooked from games; you're acting like he's played every minute of every game to make your point.
And that senior-player-speaking-out-is-bad angle is nonsense - it's Mo Salah complaining - a man with a massive ego - that is crying about being on the bench for a few games after stinking the place out. Is Slot not allowed to bench Salah, otherwise he is responsible for the fallout from a petulant outburst?
Yes he’s been poor but change his role then, use him differently, he’s still technically superb and a brilliant finisher. Gakpo has been taken off but he starts game after game and mills so much of our play.
We are not going to agree here, Salah isn’t right here but he isn’t fully wrong and for me Slot needs to shoulder a lot if the blame as well

Senior players aren't saying things like this, only Mo Salah is, about his own situation. He thinks he owns his position in the first team and that the idea of dropping him in favour of another option is scapegoating. It's one deranged ego dealing badly with playing like **** week after week and facing consequences. Sure, that's toxic, and it puts extra pressure on Slot because there's still no proof that life after Mo is going to go well, but if he goes and a replacement does the business, the squad and the fans etc will more on quickly imo.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostI said in an earlier post with the video that it was unprofessional by Mo and that he has form. Clearly stuff isn't right in the dressing room or on the pitch at the moment, something like this comes out and it just makes you wonder what is going on.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostYou're not saying there is or isn't a split, but you're doing your best to rationalise one? No idea what people in the dressing room think of Mo's ego, but I suspect no-one/very few people will be happy to see him go, he will be a good friend to most and I suspect many will realise the contribution he made in getting them a PL winners medal last season. Even if those same people think his form has dropped this season and are frustrated with his lack of tracking back I suspect that at most they will feel torn about the situation.
If his relationship with the manager is broken beyond repair it looks like he will leave in January. While that might be the best for the team going forward the guy is a legend and it will be sad/difficult to see him leave in such circumstances. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

This will split us and none of us know, our bias will tilt us one way or the other. The club has publicly imploded tonight and Salah has been the catalyst, that is bad. However, I think Slot should be doing more to get the best from him and sacrificing him when others are as bad if not worse is a bad look for meOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostSenior players aren't saying things like this, only Mo Salah is about his own situation. Nah. Nobody with the funds to pay his wages is moving for him other than the Saudis.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostDon’t be fooled, there will be plenty of big clubs in for him, not just Saudi. No one looks good from any of this. It puts so much pressure on the club and everyone will have to deal with it and the endless questions about Mo and Slot and his man management. Even if he leaves in January the questions will be asked especially if the form continues to be poor.
I hope the owners are ruthless and sort out what’s going on behind the scenes and they get rid of any trouble makers no matter who they are.
My first thought about his comment about promises wasn’t about playing time but a replacement being signed before he leaves with all the talk about Semenyo.

Firstly, other than Konate and kerkes, nobody has been worse this season. And he won't defend. You can't "go back to basics" with him in the side. The idea to shift him to the middle and let him have a go a at being a CF might sound interesting as a theory, but it's not something you actually do, in actual games, at the expense of actual centre forwards. He's done at this level, and if anything, Slot left it far too long to make the call to drop him. If he's done it weeks ago things might not have got this bad for us.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Not germane to the current situation. He's not worth a place in the team on current form.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostBut he isn’t the third highest scorer in the history of the club and a key figure in our most recent successes.
Not getting respect, and felling that he's not getting respect are two different things. What does Slot have to do to "show respect"? Get on his hands and knees and beg Salah to please sit on the bench? It looks like the only respect Salah wants is to play every game.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostThe guy is a legend and deserves respect while he feels he is not getting, for him to go to the press shows dysfunction.
Going to the press shows a gigantic ego, not dysfunction.
Technically superb at what? Constantly losing the ball? Ballooning the ball over the bar or straight at blockers 2 inches away? Hitting simple passes straight to opponents? There is no doubt that his physical elements are on the wane, yet the technical aspects of his game, i.e. retaining possession, passing, shooting have been extremely poor. You can argue that Gakpo is just as ineffective, and it's persuasive, but in Gakpo's favour at least he can run about a bit.Originally posted by Irishnev View Post
