City away was a free hit so not the worst game to have ruined by a ref. At least the games come fast now we're in Europe.

Our excellent run against the top teams had to come to an end at some point. In some ways it's best that it happened with an un-level playing field.

Move on and refocus.

I agree. There is a need to rotate as well, and poor decisions in defensive positions are going to be shown up with such a thin squad

Gomez, Lovren and Robbo have to start.

At least as importantly, Salah has to start making more of his chances, we rely on him and Mane for goals with Firminho being a 'not about goal scoring' striker and Mane is out for a few games. Salah has to learn to shoot asap.

No it doesn't. While we're attacking teams with pace and good passing we keep teams on the defensive. A totally different situation to sitting back and absorbing pressure.

We haven't played well at all with 10 men. Ball retention is dreadful and their goals have all been too easily gained.

But I think that he has a point, in that if we had retained the ball better upfield (which is of course partly due to Mane being sent off), our defence would fall under less pressure, which I think has been the key difference in this game.

It was always going to be difficult being down to 10 men but we have completely collapsed since the red card. I hope I never see a collapse like this again the next time we're down to 10 men. Show some fight
