    Rotating Goalkeepers

Apparently, Mig is the keeper for the PL this season and Karius is our CL keeper. Presumably Ward will be our domestic cup keeper or something like that.

Is this a good use of the squad, enabling us to give valuable experience to all of our Goalkeepers?

    Or

Is this a bizarre experiment that means we are below full strength for a major competition, unsettles an already unsettled back four and hinders our ability to develop a coherent defensive unit?

Personally I don't really get it. I don't think investing in Karius is worth the disruption, he's not going to be a long term first choice option for us realistically. I think we should be sticking with a back five until they get their **** sorted.

    Fully agree with the latter.

I don't understand what's going on with Danny Ward's development. I'd be pissed if I was him. From being a hero at Huddersfield, aiding them in their promotion to the Premier League, to being our third choice behind Mignolet and Karius.

Makes sense. If not, we'll be having a certain No. 1 with a couple of 30+ year olds accepting their fate as back up. Doesn't really encourage competition and motivation.
        Are we winning?

If it starts costing us points I can see this plan being jettisoned as it was last season.

As it stands, you cant really blame Karius for either of the goals last night.

No you can't, but different Goalkeepers can't be a help for defenders, and if anything would be the opposite in terms of predicting what the keeper will do (will he come off his line or not, which side is the keeper's strongest etc)

If we were rock solid in the CB department it could make some sense.

We are definitely not that though. I'd have thought partnerships breed stability. Practice the other keepers in the domestic cups.

I honestly believe that Mig is up for sale. Is he cup tied if he sits on the bench for a Champs League game? (I think not). When he was last 'rested' there was a rumour Napoli were in for him and I suspect Karius is getting the CL games because we don't want to cup-tie Mig.
                Really?

I think that we need a settled back 5 or at the very least a settled GK and CB pairing. For me swapping out regularly is just going to bring even more confusion among the back 4, if we are going to rotate keepers I'd prefer to say Mignolet plays every league and CL game between now and November and Karius plays November to January or something like that. But would prefer us to just have a first choice keeper who plays all the time.

I don't mind rotating the GK for the cup games as we are likely to rotate most of the team for these games.

I don't really like the idea of rotating keepers but if we were I'd rather he was one of them coming into the side because I think he is probably at a similar level to the other 2 but he has the potential to improve.

Lots of sides on the continent use a cup keeper dont they? I think even Wenger does at Arsenal. Maybe its just a hangover of that for Klopp.

It does seem like a bit of a blind spot of his though, but we can hardly claim one keeper is far and away better than the other. Mignolet might be a better keeper than Karius, but I hardly think its that much of a gulf in class.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mignolet was available (same for Karius to bee honest) but I don't see the CL situation being an indicator of it. I don't see many of the sides who are in the latter stages of the CL wanting Mignolet as their keeper, the sides who would want him are likely to only play a couple of games in the knockout stages so I don't see that keeping him out of the CL side making that much of a difference.

If Karius is the prefered option why is Mignolet playing the majority of the games (there are more PL than CL games). Karius has little PL experience, he has played about 10 games, surely it would make more sense to give our prefered keeper more games in the league.

Don't get it at all. If one keeper is better than the other pick him and stick with him. Seems so very simple. Why over complicate it?

If there's one thing our terrible defence needs it's stability.
