the can handball ok, maybe, but so many of them aren't given, its 50-50. i'm fuming all the time tbh, with our poor finishing, sloppy passing and defensive mistakes, the refs ****ing up is just adding to a long list. i'm not looking for excuses, it's our **** ups that cost us most of the points, but we're not getting much from refs either atm.

It's funny how yesterdays game had a cameo of every pet peeve in the team. From Moreno's overpowered cross, Sturridge's ridiculout sattempt at a lob and Lovrens's hack in the final mintues. Again, had to rely on a typical Coutinho goal where he cuts in onto his right.

Bit boring this repetitive rinse and repeat isn't it? I thought we were going to get something dynamic with Jurgen, but we aren't getting it. I'm probably wrong to expect that with pretty much the same squad as Brendan had, minus Gerrard and Suarez.

I think he's overrated his ability to impact the mediocre players we rely on. None of them are horrendous, they're just inconsistent and average.

For me, it seems Jurgen's biggest downfall is the trust he puts in his players.

It's a really fine line really isn't it? On the one side, he can be said to be a brilliant man-manager, always optimistic and protecting his players but on the other, you could say he's deluding himself thinking we can challenge with Matip, Lovren and Klavan as our CBs.

Again, it's a fine line. Put some of those missed chances away against Seville, Spartak and Newcastle and the mood would be on the more positive side.

Extremely frustrating result sprinkled with coating of déjà vu. We had several good chances to score, at least two strong penalty claims, a screamer of a goal by Coutinho only to be cancelled out by a poorly defended goal which was conceded by pure bad luck. I don't think Joselu could have placed it in that corner, he didn't look confident on the ball and if Matip didn't get back to make that challenge, I'm not so sure Migs would have been beat in a 1vs1.
The second half was probably the worst we have played all season but still managed to create chances to win. In mitigation, we did have an away trip in Moscow and Benitez sent out Newcastle in 2nd half to be much more compact and to spoil the flow at every opportunity. On the plus side Solanke's cameo was really encouraging.

Frustrating as the past month has been it's not the disaster some are making out. Yes, the two Manchester teams are looking very strong and that only increases the angst in our fan base but we are only a couple of points behind Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea. The international break at last has come at a good time. Indeed United at home may be the perfect game to break us out of our current rut. In a curious coincidence, last season a low in confidence Utd visited Anfield at the same time of year just after the Oct international fixtures. We were flying at the time, beating teams by 4 or 5 goals. Mourinho fearing a similar defeat introduced the blueprint on countering the gegenpress which multiple teams have copied successfully since. With Utd's good form they may be more expansive which would play into our hands. A win against Utd could be the catalyst for an upturn in confidence with a very winnable game against Maribor straight after.

This post sums up every single thing wrong with this Liverpool team for me, total ****ing mess. That entire defence needs ****ing off ASAP.

Personally I think the defence gets too much of the blame.

17 ****ing shots and only 2 on target. That ain't the fault of the defence.

I think the only positive we can take out of this game is that Salah looks to have a good set piece delivery.

Well sure we can finish better but we've scored the 4th most in the league but only 2 teams have conceded more. We've conceded 11 in 4 away games, even if you are generous and take City out because of the circumstances we are still averaging 2 per game conceded v 3 absolute bum teams in Watford, Newcastle and Leicester. It's horrific. Sure, Salah or Sturridge could have finished but would we have held on or just given them another goal out of nothing again? Feels like the latter is more likely right now.
