It's a niche audience, but if like me you spend most of your weekends looking at Opta stats you'll know how unusual this game has been in that 45 minutes.

Jordan Henderson completed 60 passes in the first half; six more than the whole Everton side put together.

Jonjoe Kenny found a team-mate with 16% of his passes. Unheard of.

Henderson dropping deep to take the ball off Klavan is pointless. Klavan can walk the ball into space and pass it sideways himself leaving us with an extra man further forward.

He wouldn't be the first player in the history of the game to have his nose put out of joint now he's not the fans favourite since his new colleague is ripping the league a new arse.

We aren't playing really well, they're playing so deep that the game couldn't really go any other way. When they have broke we have defended well, especially Gomez, but we have not been making the movement we should be making and it's all been a bit ploddy. Brilliant goal aside, it's been a frustrating half.

I disagree. We have been patient and got the breakthrough. Now the game is going to be a bit more different as I expect them to come out a bit more.

Agree with this, he looks like powerhouse in defence.

I'd love to see a pairing of Gomez and VVD.

even the two sams will realise they have to be more expansive [lolz] and then we will have more space.
frustrating watching henderson move the ball side to side but not enough movement in front of him around the two buses. its even worse watching the short passes from lovren or klavan to henderson, step up the pitch another 10 yards then play the ball. ffs.

We’ve done all we can that first half. Patient play, mopped up their attempted break outs and taken one of our harder chances. Everton haven’t tried to play much, their hoofs have been collected and got us back on another attack. Mane with a poor decision at the end not to square it for a tap in.

Could be different game this second half with the 2 changes they’ve made. If they come out more there should be more space for us to play in and create better chances getting behind 1 parked bus instead of 2!
