It was particularly galling considering our front four were being hailed as the unselfish four by many corners of the media.

A derby played in Snow and Rain, decided by a dodgy Peno .... it happens
Lovren though should have known better and Mane should have squared the ball. I have noticed he is desperate to get on the score sheet many times at the expense of his teammates .. in the past 2 or 3 games, there is a slight desperation to elements of his game of late, he is snatching at shots, not all of them obviously

There's selfish and selfish. He was in a great scoring position, he just finished poorly

I know that he is capable of scoring than and I agree it's not that tight and angle. But it isn't an easy chance and at least 2 maybe 3 of his team mates just have to tap in to an open goal if he rolls it across. He has to pass there IMO.

The Lovren one is just naive and there is too much of that in our defensive side of the game IMO. For all the claims of it being a dive or it being soft. What did anyone expect to happen there, from the Everton player's point of view his team have been under constant pressure, finally he gets a touch of the ball in the box, he's running away from goal so doesn't really have a chance of scoring, his manager has probably told them all to look for set chances to get set pieces in dangerous positions, Lovren barges into him, what does anyone expect to happen? For me Lovren doesn't understand the situation which is why he makes that challenge. Yes it's a soft one but you don't put the referee in the position to make that decision. It's things like that which distinguish good defenders from average ones.

**** Mane, the greedy **** and **** that ref, the corrupt cunt.

Hope Klopp absolutely gives it to Mane after that. You can't do that **** in a tight game. Absolutely criminal to ignore 3 players with a tap in to go for glory on your wrong ****ing foot.

I wish Klopp spoke out against refs a bit more. We are always on the wrong end of these decisions FFS. Cant wait until the video refs are brought in to stop this **** happening.

Hardly. Id say the correct phrase would be 'brushed against'.

It was soft as ****. If they gave penalties for upper body contact that minimal we'd be seeing over 10 penalties a game.

To be fair from the ref's perspective, It actually looks like Lovren had his hands up and pushed him, The ref wasn;t to know Lovren was only pretending to push

Aye, Mane should have been hauled off for that to teach him a lesson as he had 2-3 other players in better positions than himself to score. Wonder if Henderson gave him a rollicking as captain?

However I thought we played well yesterday and could and should have got more out of it than we did

Everton were really poor and there did not seem any coherent plan from them other than **** the ball anywhere into our half. It wasn't even played into the channels or up for a man to hold up

Anyway on to us, we got into great positions but failed to either deliver a good final ball (Mane should have passed) or put away the chances. So clearly the team he put out was capable of getting the result required despite my misgivings.

What I found strange was the subs. Chamberlain was doing really well inside and was bossing the midfield and giving us loads of energy in there. Salah was killing their leftback. So for me taking off Mo and moving Ox out wide lost us momentum. If you were going to bring on Firmino then Solanke should have been the one to give way

On to the penalty. My initial reaction at the match and in real time was "you daft prick" it looked a tad harsh but Lovren has so much form for doing this when there is absolutely no need

On seeing it back I think it was very harsh. It's one of them for me. If if goes against you you feel aggrieved if you are the attacking team you get that you would feel it was your lucky day
                          Agree with all of that.

The media agenda for this game has been nothing short of disgusting. They had already written their ‘ klopps changes hurt liverpool’ before kick off and went with it after the game. The amount of **** pundits out there is farcical. If there’s one that I admire, it would be Gabriel Marcotti. I don’t think he’s ever played the game but he understands it. Carraghers a bit of a bellend when it comes to opinions.
