Need to get Konate signed up, Kelleher presumably wants to leave for regular game time. Morton is 22 now, 23 in October, he's had a couple of loan moves with regular games in the Championship, he has come back and barely got a sniff, I would be surprised if he is still here at the start of next season.Robertson is the one that needs thinking about, presumably we will look to sign a LB so it's a question of who stays and would he be happy not being a regular? Now we can try to sort out the 2026 contracts:
- Konate - renew if his demands are reasonable
- Kelleher - Sell
- Robertson - The aim should be to get a new first teamer, sell Tsimikas this summer, let Robertson's contract rundown and start giving Beck some games.
- Morton - Decision time. Probably sell, but we DO need some of tge younger midfielders to be good enough to start getting games.
Are there any others?
Then we can tackle 2027 contracts? Mo? Virgil? (And about 8 others!)The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment

The days of robbos marauding runs and assists have passed him by, his pace checked out last year.Need to get Konate signed up, Kelleher presumably wants to leave for regular game time. He needs to be shown the door, a great player in his day.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.Comment

Question might be would Tsimikas want to stay as back up? Age wise he is at his peak, he has spent last few years as Robbo's backup, if we bring in a younger LB would he want to stay and continue being backup or a squad option, when he could probably go elsewhere and be first choice? The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment

He has been here for a few years, and had been OK, as a squad player, there hasn't been any suggestion of him wanting to leave before. But it depends what his expectations are, maybe he thought that he was being trained up to be Robertsons replacement, if we sign a new LB who comes in ahead of him that dynamic has changed. That might make him consider moving elsewhere to play regularly, as I say he is reaching the age where he should be athis peak, what does he want from his career? Some players might be happy as a squad player at a club like ours others might want to take a stepson to play regularly
Comparison with Robertson is he is someone who has been a regular here and won the lot, he might feel content sticking around as a squad player or may feel he still has a few years left somewhere as a regular.
Players views and wishes come into this decision too, but it seems unlikely we will sign a new LB and keep both.Last edited by Exiled_red; 18-04-25, 12:33 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.Comment
