The goal Lacazette scored was fantastic, the pass was brilliant, his run was perfect and the finish as well, hard to fault anyone.

Only because they would have let about 15 goals in already this season.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostAlthough Karius and Mignolet would have got pelters for it, and you know it's true.
You cant give aim any **** at all towards a keeper who has only let 5 goals in in 11 league matches.
It is the other end of the pitch where things need to improve.Modifying post.

Yes I thought Allison should have done much better in reading the shot. I wouldn't have expected Mignolet or Karius to save it but we have forked out big money for a world class keeper.
Think we all saw the placement of the shot coming by the way Lacazette set himself up. In defence of Alisson, Gomez was un-sighting him and should have even stuck out a leg himself (which the keeper might have been expecting).
Anyone who's played in goal knows it's an absolute nightmare when a defender blocks your field of view as you see the ball so late.

I think it is the body of work of a player that we rate and refer to, when players repeatedly mess up (at either end of the pitch) then the focus sharpens on their performance and each mistake is magnified and obviously we comment otherwise forums like this wouldnt exist. With Karius the mistakes were 'again', with Mignolet 'again', same with Moreno. Lovren has pretty much turned it around, but it took maybe 5-6 months of exemplary performances and even then he now finds himself behind Joe Gomez.Originally posted by Kenneth View Post

Mignolet and Karius had moments where they were amazing, arguably Karius was in great form pre CL Final, but you could tell he had more mistakes in him. Mignolet was outstanding in the run in to us achieving CL football the year before.

Alisson is a different personality altogether, and though every goal can be better defended in an idalistic world, I feel his overall performances and the confidence and solidity he brings to the position is something we have not witnessed before.
Giving Alisson any stick this season would be like highlighting Mo Salah missing a chance at the end of last.Last edited by Buzzo; 06-11-18, 12:17 AM.Modifying post.

I agree, this goal was down to Arsenal being excellent more than us ****ing up, IMO.Originally posted by Kenneth View Post
