I must admit, I was shocked at the fee for an above average defender.

In the bigger picture though this could turn out to be the best buy we have made for many a year. He really does seem to be the real deal. Yet again it shows why Klopp doesn't work in synthetic environments and I unfortunately don't work at LFC.

And it is absolutely testament to how good a player he, how composed he is and what a rock solid temperament he must have that since we signed him I there hasnt been a single article about how much he cost.

For one player he's made a ridiculous improvement to our defence instantly. Someone requested the stats recently and they actually weren't that impressive, even though anyone watching the matches could clearly see the progress being made.

We've 6 clean sheets in the last 9 now and even though they are not solely down to Virgil, there is no denying that he is clearly the biggest contributing factor to these improvements.
