Considering City hit 100 points last season, that's a nice drop off from them even considering there's three games less than a full season.

Wow! Not much between City, Liverpool and Spurs (much, much closer than I thought it would be).

Especially as our league form dropped significantly at the end of the season due to CL we only won 2 of the last 6 games and we were only 3 points behind City.

TBH......Virgil is probably a solid shout at this point for the POTY awards even over the flashy goal-scorers, especially given how early the PFA ones go out in the second half of the season.
About time a defender picked it up again. Title win might help as well.

I reckon VVD has an excellent chance of winning POTY. It's not just his defending that's winning him plaudits, it's his range of passing, leadership and how he's transformed our defence in less than a season. He's a remarkable player and he chose us over City
