Thanjk you.

It’s been ages since it kicked off in the footy forums.
I’m getting nostalgic.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Best in the last 35 years. Staam, Hyypia Ferdinand are up there. Kompany, maybe. Van Dijk is on is own though. Just perfect in every metric.
Dont really remember well the likes of Hansen. I do remember seeing him in a few games late 80s,but pretty much the whole team looked top notch. And there was no Europe to compare top level. But I was hardly old enough to appreciate what I was seeing.
Fitness levels are so much better now, and Van Dijk still purrs across the pitch like my cat pads around the garden knowing it is top of the food chain out there.
Never has a player seemed so irreplacable.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.
I don't think any of them changed a team as much as Dijk. I don't think any player at all has.
Staam and Ferdinand came into a successful side (not their fault, but it's true). Hyypia was immense but he didn't get us over that line.
Van Dijk just totally transformed us overnight. He's one of the best things to ever happen to this club.
Kompany could possibly be in that group, he was Cities defence when they transformed, just look at the state of their defence as he's aged, but the rest of 'em aren't.
I'd say Alisson has also made a huge difference. Just rewatched the Barca semi 2nd leg agaiin, without him in the side as well as VVD we'd have gone out.
