That feels very fast given he only had surgery a couple of weeks ago? Would have assumed his knee is still wrapped upOriginally posted by Saveloy View PostLiverpool defender Virgil van Dijk's hopes of returning this season have been boosted after the 29-year-old Dutchman returned to light training following his knee surgery. He'll just be doing his rehab at the training centre, not "returning to light training".
For a footballer 6 months is the absolute minimum after an ACL replacement. Usually more like 7-8. Some sports have managed to get players back in 4-5 months where they're not twisting and turning so much, but even then it's considered rare to be anywhere near full strength before 6 months.
I'd imagine a symbolic 20 mins or so in a couple of games at the very end of the season is about the best we can hope for. I'd rather he focused on being ready for next year's pre-season though.

There's no point in rushing him back for the last few games of the season. Need to make sure he is properly recovered from injury when he plays.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
