should have been some serious groundwork done early in the week and the promise of a good Saturday.Originally posted by dom9 View PostWife asked me this morning if we'd be doing anything nice tonight.
"Well..." I said.
Her face dropped....
"There might be a football game on tonight".
Cue a crestfallen silence, followed by the major hump.
So I think I'll be missing this game too. If I ever meet the cretin who's idea it was to put football games on a Friday, I might well push him into a canal, or oncoming traffic, or out of a window. Whichever is closer.
In other news, I predict a replay.

Seriously?Originally posted by S-RED View PostI thought it was no replays this year, 90mins, extra time & Pens?
That's another competition ****ed for the small clubs hopeful of a hard fought home draw in order to secure a bumper payday with an away day at a top team. No doubt it's to help with the world ****ing cup.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

I'm a bit worn out with football at the minute, so am actually glad this is on a Friday night. Already out for lunch a few beers this afternoon, so watch the match tonight, then have a football free weekend.Originally posted by dom9 View PostIt is ridiculous though.
And I'm in complete agreement with her. There are games on every single other day / night of the week. Friday nights are football free and should absolutely remain so for a multitude of reasons. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

If I ever meet the genius who decided to schedule FA cup games on Friday nights...
I’ll buy him a pint

for this year we've put a calendar up in the kitchen so that I can put all our fixtures on it so she knows in advance and there can be no excuses from either party for not knowing
We've been 'properly' living together for about 6 months now and I was soo used to the bachelor life and kinda just expected her to know when we play and i'll be going that it caused so many arguments
usually, Saturday morning - what we doing today? - well don't know about you luv but i'm getting the train to town at 11am to meet the lads for a brekkie and pint then going the game....
wasn't going down so well
as it stands tonight, I didn't sign up to cup games - I might have another corporate ticket, just waiting to hear - if not she is none the wiser....it's on the calendar so i'll be out!i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

reminds of our weekly five a side
When it gets called for off for some reason or other, my mate tells his wife he's off out to footy - gets dressed in his footy gear, I do the same, pick him and we go the pub
two of us sat there in footy shirts and socks/shorts in the middle of winter having a pint
Have to park round the back of the pub so no-one sees the car if they drive passed
