years ago when we played 11 a side - we had an away match, so it was meet at the pub for 10am and go in convoy - kick off at say midday so most lads had told their other halves they won't be till about 3/4pm

it was ****ing lashing it down - we got to the pub - the game gets called off before we leave

so we decide to stay in the pub and start one all mighty day session......

before some went home, they went outside and literally covered themselves in mud so it looked like they'd been playing and had come straight home from full time!

Stretching my memory a bit but wasn't Hyypia's debut against Wolves were he looked class the moment he walked on the pitch? Hopefully another one of those games for this big fella.

Everton are facing a race against time to register Cenk Tosun in time for the £27m signing to be selected for the Merseyside derby FA Cup tie against Liverpool.

The departing Besiktas star is on Merseyside after he underwent a medical and reportedly agreed terms on a four*and a*half year deal to join the Toffees after a breakthrough in negotiations between both clubs on Thursday.

That would only occur, however, if Everton finalised all the paperwork and managed to send it over to the Football Association ahead of midday on Friday - the cut off point to register players for weekend matches.
