One observation straight away after that game is that VVD needs to play with someone a bit more front foot and pacey. I always think back to a player like William Gallas as an ideal partner for a more measured defender like VVD

In my opinion that’s our season over in terms of honours, and this year it’s January. I think we managed to reach February last year? I know we’re still in Europe, and I believed we had a chance when Coutinho was still here, but not now, not now he’s not been replaced
our window has been shocking.*lose your best creative midfielder and not replace, and only sign one player - who we should have signed in the summer if we had not messed up.

TBH, these two losses could be a blessing in disguise. Team needs a lift to reach Coutinho and even though it might not be a like for like replacement, the gesture could do wondersOriginally posted by Leyton388 View PostIn my opinion that’s our season over in terms of honours, and this year it’s January. We need to go out and buy a goalkeeper and a replacement for Phil, however I'm 99.9% convinced we won't do either and the Couthino money has already been spent on VVD and the Ox.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostTBH, these two losses could be a blessing in disguise. FSG have no interest in winning silverware and only care about money and keeping that coming in and they know they can keep doing it without the need to invest in order to push us on and win trophies.
This football club is a shell of itself and bares no resemblance to the club i fell in love with as a kid.

I'll agree with you simply for the adage about idiots dragging you down to their level and beating you with experience.Originally posted by Lecter View PostPerhaps its you who should stop watching if you think he's played well
First goal he's out of position and when he covers he should put his body on the line not dangle a leg half hearted
Goal 2 again out of position and let's 2 attackers run off him
3rd goal he's completely out of positionFootball without Origi is nothing

Again a stunning defence of himBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

But hey, why would we spend any money this window, everything will be OK once we (insert self-comforting delusion here), it's great we win the Fiscal Prudence Cup every year with beloved steady-ship FSG and their glory glory balance sheet, we'll sort it all out in the summer window anyway just like last summer and the January window before that and the summer window before that etc. etc. Now we wait a few days until another of our inevitable big performance as underdogs against teams who leave things more open and watch everybody relax because we're suddenly aces again who just need one or two more faces next window.

Reading it back, it's definitely a bit stream of consciousness all right! Or steam off consciousness. Either way, to put it more mildly, we have won nothing with FSG, are not getting any closer and are unlikely to in the future with this enduring one foot nailed to the floor approach. Think I'm just going to plug out from giving a ****, it's a waste of energy being passionate about a club that's essentially an elaborate dress rehearsal while the real thing happens elsewhere.
