That's why VAR will never help. Pundits, officials and fans all see things differently. Some lonely old stoat in a studio miles away knocking one out isn't going to make it foolproof.

I actually think the modern football fan has the game they want, forever moaning about tackles, wanting red cards and so on. Take the first half, there were some tasty tackles but it wasn't overly rough. By baying for fouls you ultimately end up with a generation of footballers that play on this and make conning refs a pastime. There will of been opposition fans wanting red for karius. Even If contact had been full on I don't think it's fair to red a keeper for trying to do his job.

Our fans whinge as much as others. Everytime a tasty tsckle goes in we moan in unison. Tackles will be mistimed doesn't mean every player is a thug. All we should ask for is a little consistency.

I hate seeing reds and this two fouls and you could be off is a joke. But we have to protect the players. Ironic that pitches are perfect, squads have never been bigger and yet the best players need special protection. Makes you realise how good Kenny was after getting smashed game after game.

All this silly bollox with penalties nowadays ,

Apparently any touch in the box is a foul and you can go down for it.

Bascially a cheaters charter going forward , soft as ****

What annoys me is that all this offside, rules, grey area talk is taking away from teh fact that Kane dived. If that was a foreign player, the press, pundits and media would be all over it but because it is Englands golden boy who just scored his 100th goal... not a ****ing peep.

So many instances of attackers instigating the contact, effectively jumping into defenders and going down. Calvert-Lewin did the same move against us and got the pen and then at arsenal and didn't. I suspect refs got a memo on the derby decision. Needs nipping in the bud, if a striker isn't moving towards the ball refs have got to assume no pen. And let's face it, it's all assumption as the officials don't really have a clue what's going on.

Kane dived, no question. However, Karius gave him the opportunity and he took it. Fowler did the same against Arsenal all those years ago. Said no pen, still got awarded. Second was a pen too. VVD did make contact, Lamela saw an opportunity to be contacted and took it, at no point did he intended to play the ball. Just draw a foul.
For a team full of supposed football excellence to rely on borderline gamesmanship is just cuntish.
Also sick to the back teeth with the Kane wankfest since the game.

Talked to ref today and he said that they don't use the FIFA laws anymore, changed this season. Not sure if true but he was certain.

Funny that because after Dele Alie was booked I said to the bloke next to me that playing for pens was clearly the tactical switch they had made at half time

What happened yesterday was blatant cheating.

Also, it's remarkable how few people know the rules of game, fans and pundits.

right had time to digest it all now

thought we played reasonably well first half - better side, they didn't do much and we took our early chance well.

Negatives - Mane again imo looked off the pace - seemed to not get the ball out of his feet, seems really reluctant to take people on and go at the defender. Couple of times felt he could have either passed or shot but did the opposite. Just doesn't look quite right to me.

Also, felt our full backs, both young lads with loads of potential, but they struggled when they got into wide positions and the ball came out to them - a rush of blood leading to over hit crosses etc.

2nd half we got battered - we looked all over the place. Don't think we strung three passes together and although they didn't create many clear cut chances, their goal was coming. Personally don't think karius did too much wrong with the punch out - the strike was just unstoppable one in 1000!

From there I thought, i'd take a draw - so when they get the first penalty I think ****ing game over.

My first complaint - What the **** was Lovren trying to do!! ****ing deal with that and there is no debate. That said, he's offside Kane, so i'm unsure why that's not been given. I'm also unsure as to why the ref would give it, then listen to the linesman and decide against....and then for the second penalty, not give it and then stop play listen to the linesman and this time take his advice!

                        Anyway ****e penalty - survived!

then to go and score like we did was just pure elation. But even then I still was thinking, this isn't over.

The second penalty - I've seen two angles, one looks blatant and one looks like a clear dive. That put a side, the ref seemingly had no interest in giving the pen and then changes his mind. Gobsmacked by the thought process he had over their two pens - and maybe it's bias, but he looked all over of the shop for the whole game....it was a disgraceful performance imo.

And spurs - what a horrible snidey cunt of a side they are.....love to leave a stud showing here, or a little pull there - but the second anyone goes near them it's hit the deck and run to the ref.

Overall - i'll take the draw.....prob the fair result - sickening not to have won - but at the same time, 5 mins to go i'm thinking we've lost

This apologist line gets trotted out by the pundits all the time now for diving or pretending to be fouled, it drives me nuts. Karius went for the ball as he had to and didn't take out Kane in doing so. Kane just dived. It's bollocks to infer any fault on the keeper in these situations, unless he actually takes the player. Kane cheated, the ref fell for it. That's all.

2nd one, Lamela is offside as already mentioned in the thread. Marginal and tough one to expect the officials to see, but still offside therefore not a pen.
