Seriously not once did I hear anyone, pundits or fans, asking did City only win 0-4 cos Basel are wank. All I'm getting tonight is "Porto are wank".Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostTuesday night: Man City record biggest-ever away win by an English club in Champions League knockout stages.

I just missed the Firmino goal predictionOriginally posted by Fernandinho View PostSo pumped for this game

Great start to the thread including NSW times too. Working from home on the Thursday so I can watch this live and uninterrupted in the morning too.
Got a feeling Mane has a few goals in him for this one. Salah is handy and chips in with the odd goal too.
what a bloody game! Very interested to see how both team respond with their line ups for the next game considering the tie is effectively over. They have big games coming up in the context of their league and we play United away on the weekend of the second leg, while united have the whole week to prepare.
Be interesting to see how Klopp manages it.Last edited by Fernandinho; 15-02-18, 12:51 AM.96 Never Forgotten

Remarkably - RTE managed to avoid that line. They simply came to the conclusion that Liverpool were outstanding. Said VVD will turn out to be a brilliant signing. And praised the front 3 massively.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostSeriously not once did I hear anyone, pundits or fans, asking did City only win 0-4 cos Basel are wank. Said Porto played into our hands a little bit, which is true

Yeah it’s a nice position to be in. Could easily see it through with something like Karius, Trent, Matip, Dijk, Moreno, Can, Milner, Lallana, Ox, Ings, Mane or something then bring in 6 or 7 fresh faces for Utd. Or the first team can just stroll around but if you get a chance to rest players in March you absolutely take it!Originally posted by Fernandinho View PostI just missed the Firmino goal prediction

There's still a game to be won but we can probably afford to rest our front three.Originally posted by Fernandinho View PostI just missed the Firmino goal prediction

Yeah agreed. Wouldnt be surprised to see Klavan and whoever isn't starting vs united out of Lovren and Matip start. Defence to be fully rotated for the United game. Midfield to be Lallana, Can and Milner as you suggested seems to make sense.Originally posted by Chris View PostYeah it’s a nice position to be in. Would be great if we can start Solanke Ings and Ox up front. We could pretty well rotate the entire 11 if we did that.
The ultimate result for us would be to see Porto field a weakened side to save their players too.96 Never Forgotten

Porto know they're not gonna win 0-6 at ours, so I reckon they'll give up the ghost and make some changes too - though I've no idea of their domestic situation tbh.
Big changes 2nd leg for us imo. Big hitters on the bench in case we go 0-2 down. Ideal situation for us.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Porto are pretty comfortable top of their league...currently unbeaten in fact. However im not sure on what domestic games of importance they have around our 2nd leg. Would imagine they rest some of their top players for the domestic challanges as overcoming a 5-0 at Anfield will be a hard task.
Tough to think how we should approach the 2nd leg...
Almost full strength but with early subs? Potential risk of injury to key players for the united game. Or ability to bring on rested stars if need to up the performance.
Heavily rotated side? May take away some momentum in our play for the following game. But at least our key players would be rested for man u.
Suppose a good headache to have!
