No real high profile examples I can think of in recent times, but very few players come through the academy at all to become mainstays in the first team and a lot of those that do are already something special at a young age.

Ibe probably our most successful loanee I can think of as he came back for half a season and looked awesome and we then got a decent price for him. Other players such as Mellor, Warnock or Martin Kelly could have came back and cemented places but for injury.

Despite Klopp's initial reluctance to send players on loan, we do seem to be getting smarter with our loan moves (playing clauses, hand picking teams etc). Coupling that with Klopp's willingness to give young players a chance, you would imagine it's not too long before someone comes back from loan and establishes themselves and a genuine first team player.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Tripper as well. Although a better example of a late bloomer that we don't see too often these days.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Talking of loaned out players, is Ilori still on the books?

Blimey he's regressed at some rate since leaving Lisbon.

Yep, a shame. When he joined I had a really good feeling about it! For no ****ing reason of course, but you know

Must be getting a loan fee for him now his stock is pretty high. I'd have liked to have kept him around but as long as he continues to improve elsewhere it's all good.

Disappointed he's not being loaned to a Huddersfield or Brighton.

I'm disappointed he's not staying and being given a chance here.

                              Another MASSIVE game

Direct, ugly and boring. Derby fans slated him and his style of play.
