Yeah that was a major gulp! He took Firmino off after that incident happened though so hopefully Virg is alright. Jurgen looked annoyed about something though, bit worried the physio told him Dejan has to have his leg amputated or something.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostVVD looked like he had a limp at the end also.
Trouble with any injuries now is there's barely any time to recover, the tie will be over in a few weeks!

We’ve literally only got 12 players right now.
Modifying post.

Too many. I wonder how long the PL will continue to be able to market itself as this ultra-competitive league when perhaps 14/15 of the sides are pretty poor!Originally posted by Chris View PostPiss easy against another one of the league's nothing clubs of which there are many. The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions to me; the distinction is yours to draw...

They weren’t that poor when we were an average side were they.
Now that we have a very good side we make teams look poor. Do you think United Chelsea and City had that view when winning titles or do they just appreciate that they have a great team.
The league is as strong as it ever been. And Bournemouth is a bad example, they have done well since promotion.
Not into these kind of comments, disrespectful imo.

Apparently Bournemouth was the 7th time this season that all of Salah, Firmino and Mane have got on the scoresheet in the same game. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Indeed. Cant ever remember it being this bad for the rest, its a shocking state, theres at least 12 genuinely horrendous sides and another couple of mediocre ones. Feels like there’s no games anymore v the others like Stoke away used to be where you are like uh oh, could be really tough this.Originally posted by The Red Cardinal View PostToo many. BG’s comment about it being as strong as it’s ever been is ****ing hilarious. Sky brainwashed nonsense. A league full of dog **** and one English team in the CL semis. How strong!

Yeah the top 6 are moving away - look at Burnley as an example. They stayed static in 7th despite not winning a league game between the start of December and the end of February (or thereabouts) - there is a huge gulf between the haves and have nots. The good news though, is that Liverpool hgave started to bully these teams and efficiently get business done - this would have been a prime slip up even last season.Originally posted by Chris View PostIndeed. Everton have been ****ing lucky that the standard has been so low this season - any other and they'd be down there in the bottom 3. Also - look at Palace! They couldn't even score for the first 5 games, sacked their manager, took on Roy Hodgson have a destroyed Benteke as their focal point and basically can't win a game when Zaha doesn't play, which is a lot.
The league is woeful below the top 6.

For the first time in my life, I value the CL over the PL. The PL weakness is partly the reason as it's been blighted with being bought since Blackburn did it. What would improve it is employing a draft system but the grass roots level isn't strong enough for that to exist.
However, I don't think we have anything to worry about as until the US catches up there's no alternative product for Sky. Germany France and Italy have been 1 horse races, and Spain a 2 horse race. The PL appears positively wide open in comparison over the last 10 years

What would make it full of ‘nothing clubs’ as you put it?Last edited by BG1973; 15-04-18, 10:55 AM.
