Overachieved in champs league. Our champs league exploits caused us to drop off in prem a bit. Was the most entertaining season I ve ever seen loved it. Heart broken now but sure its done. Have to look to next season.

A good season really. We play fantastic football and have some really good players. Champions league qualification again whilst not winning anything is incredibly important and in the PL not that easy.

The lack of squad depth was always going to cost us, i said we were one injury away from disaster some weeks back. Bringing on Bale v bringing on Lallana shows the difference. Losing Coutinho really didnt help.

It must be said but most have said our goalkeepers arent good enough and most have said so for sometime. Whether its a case on klopp being stubborn/the right player not available/lack of funds we simply dont know.

Another (as always) big transfer window a head. If we buy well we can go on and win something next year.

        Started slow.

Built some great momentum and played some brilliant football.

Phil saga caused some jitters but we built a better team without him.

Running on fumes by the end but we did what we needed to in the league and came close to something special.

Now to solve some of the remaining issues. Must proceed as we did - quality not quantity. It may leave gaps but this is how you build a great team.

100% agree and especially on the point about quality rather than quantity.

We need to be bringing in starters this summer and letting some of our current starters become the back ups/competition for places.

I'm really deflated today. I think Klopp has worked out how to get the very best out of our squad but take out attacking elements and the backup players dont fill the void left. Next season we need to have players that can step in otherwise we're not building anything with solid foundations

I think at the start of the season we'd have been happy with top 4 and making it out of the group stage, we achieved that and more. We played some great football and we have a great team, but in reality when you get beyond the first 11 we only really have 3 or 4 players capable of stepping up, and the injuries hurt us. The Salah injury in the final we can consider to be unlucky, but had it happened earlier in the season who knows what might have happened. We need to bring in more quality players in the summer so that when we get injuries there isn't such a step down in quality, as well as making the obvious changes to the first team.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Onwards and upwards - last season is done, we played some fantastic football, VVD coming in is genius, we lost the CL final because of one player in the weirdest way immginable but we are building, getting better and stronger and entertaining the **** out of everyone - Exciting times ahead.

Just imagine when we can replace quality with quality from the bench.

                  Not far off now.

You know what, the pain has subsided now and it has been replaced with a warm glow of satisfaction. That was an amazing season. Lets strengthen and go again. Its just a ride but **** me our one is a mad one every year, I am loving the Klopp years ... we just need some silverware to push on now

Aye. Klopp has made me fall back in love with LFC all over again.
                      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Being able to see where the weaknesses are in the team and knowing Klopp *will* address them is warming indeed!

Players like Fekir, Pulisic, Allison etc are exactly the level we should be looking at.

That said, I full trust that if we sign a lesser known player, he'll turn out to be a good signing based on the track record so far.

You know what mate, what we need now is a squad of players we can trust. He needs to continue to clean ship. PLayers like Skirtel, Wisdom, Benteke, Stewart, Sakho, Balotelli, what have they done since they left ? nothing, there is a reason for that.
Players like Sturridge, Moreno, Markovic, Ings, Bogdan, Can, Origi, Flannagan, Randal, Allan should all be moved on. Even if Can wants to stay I would move him on. Ings is a player who needed a bit of luck for his LFC career to take off but quite the opposite happened.

Sturridge is gone, Moreno has **** up in his dna, Flanno should be shot at this stage he obviously has no future here, Bogdan has to be the worst LFC signing since Konchesky, Origi's spot has been taken by Solanke, he really needed to put a marker down in Germany if he was to take it back, he did not, so I'd ship him.
We want a squad of players looking forward not backwards. I would like to see 3 players for the first team, 2 that can seriously challenge the first team and 4 development players.
I'd sign a new goalkeeper, give him the Number 1 Jersey and keep whichever keeper was happy to stay and fight for the number 1 spot again if both of them did not give me the right signs I'd ship them both.
I'd sign a new CB who is as close to Virgs standard as possible, the Dutch kid Matthijs de Ligt would be my top transfer target this summer, perfect player to put Lovren on notice but still keep him interested. We need to move Moreno on and sign another LB either upgrade Andy if one is available or someone of a similar standard to keep him on his toes. Gomez perhaps could be that player, but really he should be transitioning into a fully fledged CB now or right back. I would not want to be relying on him for cover at LB.

Naby is on the way, but with OX out for probably most of this year, Milner edging closer to 33 and Can off, really, we could do with another 1st team signing for this middle 3.

Perfect signing would be a player who can play in the front 3 and in the Centre.

If we had the majority of this squad but just trimmed the question marks we are really on to something. Even though we lost the CL Final, the world watched us, we are on the map again and back in the CL next season. This summer is Critical, if we want to win trophies we need to become a Juggernaut of a squad with real depth. I cant wait. We sign 5 players including Naby of real quality this squad will be amazing.

naby coming in is a massive bonus, but we also need to look at what we are left with.
i reckon our midfield has been piss weak for most of the year and we have had little back up options.

                            our current first team midfielders.
henderson. often injured, can be good but often sub standard.
wijnaldum. often injured, can be good but often sub standard.
oxlade. poor lad will have a season out due to injury.
lallana. almost always injured, used to be good but now always sub standard.
milner. runs like a machine, getting on a bit, soon needs to upgrading.
can. gone. now replaced by keita.

so keita and milner are the only decent, readily available, reliable options...
we need THREE new midfielders to fill the blanks.
if klopp is a decent manager he will be ruthless enough to bin lallana, enough of this huggy ****, save it for robbo, virgil and mo, lads who are our future.
out with the dead wood please.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
