The strength in depth of the prem undoubtedly puts English teams at a disadvantage relative to their German, French and Spanish counterparts.

When you are Bayern, Barca, Madrid or PSG it's much less likely you get a stint of fixtures like LFC will have in September and October because there are only ever 1-2 other big clubs in your league.

That means around 2-4 really big league games and perhaps a cup meeting each year as opposed to 10 big league games plus a higher likelihood of meeting one of the other 5 top prem sides in the cups.

For me this year we play full strength in every league game and if there is any rotation required (which there obviously will be) it's for the European games. I'd rather get knocked out in group stage if it helps us win the league. I'd rather we did both but realistically it won't happen.
