Milner was immense and being so close to pitch and hearing him guide all the lads around him through the game, almost like a manager on the pitch

He was good & he & Naby looked to have a good understanding despite only training together for a week.

we should have cut ties years ago, this morning i'd have said get rid but he looked in very good shape, some nice play. If we are going to get **** all for him and he's happy to a bit part player. Keep.

I was impressed with young Jones & think he could be a real prospect.

Wilson made a few mistakes but took his goals well.

I always thought Chirevella was an attacking midfielder but he played at the back last night & did alright too.

Keita looked class except that shot at goal lol. You had to laugh though

Sturridge looked a cut above & played some lovely through balls for chances. Took his goals well too.

I hope Ings injury wasn’t anything other than bruising.

There’s something about Ojo that I like but the jury is still out on him.

Kent will go out on loan again

Didn’t see much of Ben Woodburn so I was a bit disappointed as I’d hoped he’d take charge. Played in midfield & not sure if that suits him.

Jones looks decent and meant to be highly rated at the club.

Chirevella at cb and Woodburn cm, sqaure pegs as not enough players in the positions. Woodburn looks to be growing into a man, struggle to see him playing this season though.

I like Ojo but too far down the pecking order to stay

But that's part of my pre-season first match optimism. What if he's over the injury issues? He didn't play as much as hoped on loan, but that wasn't because of injury was it?


I know it won't happen. But you're right, it is sad. I want him to get back to even half of what he was.

Curtis Jones is mint, Wilson too. This squad only needs two or three top class signings and it's gonna be ****in unbeatable. Not even any need to get rid of anyone, as they all can have a part to play, except for maybe some outgoing youth loans...

... And Sturridge. I really love the guy, but today's game should be an opportunity for us to generate some interest in him and get a decent price. He's ****in class, but his pace is gone and he's made of cardboard. A tragic waste of potential, could have been a World Cup winner in a few weeks if it weren't for all the injuries.

Could easily have been mistaken and thought he was the one playing in a world cup quarter final yesterday..

Some just can't make the step up from youth to more competitive leagues I suppose. You're right, especially when you consider the ones in front of him.

I still maintain that Rangers would be a good loan move for him.

He was quite good for Tinpot FC the season before last, but he really couldn't cut it in the Bundesliga. It's probably a bit late now unfortunately :/
