Reminds me a lot of Leon Goretzka at times. Maybe not quite as far along in his development as Goretzka was at 19 and not played as many games as Goretzka had at the same age, but has something to his play that reminds me a hell of a lot of the German.

Very similar old head on young shoulders thing to what Goretzka had at the time and a very similar ability to physically match players with much more experience under their belts. Not to mention that little touch of a mongrel to his play that sees him not in the slightest bit overawed by occasion or player.

Even his close control, ball retention, accurate passing and willingness to go box to box, not to mention the way he seems to have an eye for a crack at goal all have shades of a young Goretzka.

He carried the ball forward quite well but on one fast break salah was pointing for Curtis to play the ball ahead for salah to run onto and it all sort of fizzled out as wolves then got back.

I wasn't actually thinking about the cuntish side of his game. It's rather how he finds space and his passing that brings the wee ginger **** to mind. That's where it ends though as I hated Scholes and have big hopes Jones.

I genuinely think he’ll be one of the best midfielders in the world in a few years - he’ll go the same way as Trent. On a tough day at the office he stood out again - he is 19

100% agree.

It's mad cos I talk like this to my mates who support other teams - mostly City and United living where I do - and they just do not see it. In fact I've been laughed at. They obviously don't pay the levels of attention we do, and Jones looks to be moulding his game into a less flashy, more efficient almost grown-up kind of centre mid, but my mates are wrong and we are right.

I think the Euros will come a shade too soon for him - and there's pretty stiff competition - but he will go on to become better than any of them. He's a worldie in the making.
