Must be pushing to make team of the tournament, yet still dismissed by many for other players there who haven't been half as good.

He made his u21 debut in Oct 2020. So the best team in 2 and a half years. Best I have ever seen... Well... it made me chuckle.

Its was a slow day gazing at spreadsheets for nearly 10 hours. It seemed funny at the time.
Even as an under age player ( say from 14 or 15 year & up ) he’d have been watching the U21’s side no doubt so he’s not saying that I’ve played with is he. Get back to your spreadsheets

Millie got the last of his 46 caps (a record) at u21 in 2009. Got his last full cap in 2016... 7 years ago, when he retired to focus on Liverpool.

Now if he had been quoted saying that...

Was half expecting to see Milner on the teamsheet as an overage player, when I checked.

I mean... ok. A man with much experience.

Just had a quick look at their first team yesterday and pretty sure he has more caps than anyone.

What an odd thing to pick up on.

Some of our bench must have a masters in tika taka by now.
Someone should sign Melo immediately based on that

My favourite part, is Klopp saying that being out for so long recently helped him understand the game better.

My favourite part, is Klopp saying that being out for so long recently helped him understand the game better.

“He could watch a lot of football, he could understand the game better [while sidelined] and it looks really like that,” said Klopp after Leicester. “Where he improved the most is counter-pressing – it’s exceptional – and speed of play. He doesn’t keep the ball that long any more – he does that, and has to do in moments, but he is much quicker in decision-making.”

He’s been great. He needs to stay fit for a full season.

Still only 22, which is mad as it seems as if he has been around for a long time.

It's mad really, for fans like us you see a manager shaving the creative edges and flair off a player, skills that have got him to the edge of the LFC first team, and asking him to remould into something really quite different, and you wonder why. What has the manager spotted that we haven't. It's taken a while for the penny to drop, for Jones to learn the job, but wow the patience isn't half being rewarded now. Trent's switch has definitely helped too. I always thought even if his potential was realised he'd never be more than a good squad option for us but if he sustains this he's going to be very hard to shift from that Gini role.
    Totally agree.

I had Jones in the "sell the cunt" bucket but in reality he will be a good option now. Still think we need 2 midfielders minimum this summer but its a squad game.

I do still think that he will be back on the bench as soon as we sign a couple of new pricks but he is a better option than he was 6 months ago. Big time. And probably has put himself ahead of Henderson in the reckoning

Good return and I’m back believing he’ll be one of the best midfielders in the world in 3 years
