He's a brilliant keeper. One of the very best. Everyone knows that, and his ability to stop shots has been as good as ever. But mentally, he seems to be having an issue.

As you say Alisson is an elite level goalkeeper. The mistakes of the last two weeks won't change my mind on that.
If he's still making these mistakes in a few months time then there will be cause for concern.
Lets not underplay the impact of playing behind an unsettled backline will have had on him. I'm in no doubt he wouldn't have come charging out for that ball had Virgil being the one who was chasing it down.

Actually, that has happened to me. Just forced it a bit too much and it fired through the gap and onto the floor.Originally posted by dom9 View PostWorst part is he was sitting on it at the time.
I did wipe it up though. I am not a complete animal...In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said "deep down we know as players we take full responsibility" for the side's poor form and it was down to them to improve results.
He also dismissed the rumours about Klopp as well as a confrontation between left-back Andy Robertson and goalkeeper Allison in the dressing room after Saturday's defeat at Leicester.
"I don't think I even need to comment on something like that," said Henderson.
"Someone is sitting behind a keyboard making rumours up about the manager and players in the dressing room. It's not true.
"I quite like the rumour about Robbo and Ally having a fight, that made me chuckle a little bit. But I didn't give it a lot of thought."What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

The people are sick of experts. Vote Allison out.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostKelleher's pass completion is at 71% for this season to date (all comps) and is at 75% for the PL. Last season he was scoring a bit lower than Adrian so his % this season is an improvement.
Adrian is at 65.6% in all comps. 67.3% for the PL.
Alisson is at 83.6% for all comps and 83.7% for the PL.
Second best in the UK top flight is Ederson with an 81.4% in both all comps and in the PL.
Did notice that a lot of the other keeprs that get lauded for being good with their feet all are only in the 65% to 75% accuracy range.
Alisson also keeps his 80% + average pretty much throughout his career and he scores amongst the highest in the game for accurate long passes and long throws as well.
Alisson's numbers are even more impressive considering he has to keep that average up over a greater number of games.
Very few top flight keepers in the game have a pass accuracy even close to that of Alisson and given that he maintains a high accuracy % for both long and short passes along with throws it puts him in the top 3 or 5 for using his feet.
Think only Neuer beats him as Neuer's numbers are 85.6% in all comps and 85.8% in the BundesligaFelching ≠ Gerbilling

I agree that a established defence is a requirement for our back 5, but no matter what defenders are in front of him he should still be able to kick a ballOriginally posted by rudedog View PostEvery keeper needs to have confidence in the defence to be able to perform at their peak. Given the ****show we have had with central defence this year is it really any surprise that this has affected the goalkeeper?
The mistake against Leicester with Kabak, that's just a communication error, but the kicking errors against City should not have happened. Even then, the only slight worry I have is that they seem to weigh on his mind and he doesn't block them out.
He needs to channel his inner Schmeichel (sp?) and bollock the defenders for passing the ball to him every so slightly wrong, vent his anger in that way, not let it fester and bubble inside, let it spew out at Henderson or whoever the chief CB is....he will feel much better for it!

Absolutely. He has been sweeping up at the back for ages, and probably feeling like he has to come out more as there is a gap behind the defence and the defenders dont have the recovery pace. Not surprising there was a mix up with Kabak the other day. I think thats all out the way now (hopefully) and we will see a more cohesive system going forward.Originally posted by rudedog View PostEvery keeper needs to have confidence in the defence to be able to perform at their peak.
