Thanjk you.

He made 2/3 “routine” saves where the wet ball skidded off the surface tight in front of him and he just held it. He is such a no fuss GK and he brilliant in 1 v 1 situations

His positioning and fundementals are just so so good, that he makes saves look routine and I think people then think because he is not having to fling himself around like a keeper with a lesser positioning would do, that he is somehow not world class.
Great keepers make almost everything they do look ordinary.
Good keepers on the other hand make more eye catching because they cannot read the game well enough to reduce the amount of last ditch saves needed.
Is a bit like Alonso's comment years ago about how having to make lots of tackles was not a good quality and it was something done when you were unable to read the game well enough to get the ball through an interception or when you did not have the game intelligence to keep it.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness
All sorts of different one on one saves. Waits until the last minute to work out what the striker is thinking and then thinks it half a second before and chooses correctly.
I cannot remember seeing a better goalie for being a pest in goal. Maybe Schmeical, the first one.
When he saves some 1 on 1 or catches a cross under pressure the type of which I have seen so many keepers drop for us since the 90s I think how the hell have we got such a keeper with his film star looks and cool as **** presence, the same as when VVD heads away the cross into the box when the opposition are throwing everything at us at the end of the game in such a way that it makes me think I’m an idiot for not having the confidence I should that it’s oh so easy for them as the camera shows seconds later as it zooms in to their faces. The question I actually end up asking is how good and how lucky we are to have a manager who has made these incredible players to want to be at our club
