UK LFC v Non UK LFC

The thread on immigration got me thinking.

If a UK and Ireland LFC had to pick from history an XI to play a non UK LFC XI, how would both teams line up and who would win?

My memory sucks on players these days but here goes.

    -----------------Clemence

    Nicol-------Hansen---Lawrenson---Robertson

    Mcmanaman----Souness----Gerrard-----Barnes

    -------------Rush-------Dalglish

Subs: Fowler, Owen, Carragher, Mcmahon, Whelan, Hughes, James

    v

    -----------------Alisson

    Babel---Van Dyck---Agger-----Aurelio

    -----———///---Alonso-----

    Salah------Coutinho (the *******)----Mane

    ---------Suarez-----Torres

Bench: Firmino, Berger, Grobbelaar, Luis Garcia, Kuyt, Hamann, Hyypia

thought this thread was going to about the amount of access fans get to the players during the preseason abroad, signing autographs, open training, rocking up in bars

          Barnes is Jamaican

Although his DNA swab said he's mainly Scottish, so I guess he could go either way.

That’s a whole other can of worms.

He played for England so for the purposes of this thread he is English.

Not thought about the teams in detail but would probably have gone with Phil Neil at RB switched Nicol to LB and unfortunately Robertson misses out it's too soon for him maybe later in his career. Also David James as our backup keeper, surely we have to do better Lawrence or Scott are surely better candidates (although I'm not old enough to have seen either )

As others say there are 12 men in the non-UK side. Again I think that it is too soon for Alisson and Keita (having never played a game) probably VVD too. Accounting for that Keita comes out as 12th man and Coutinho drops to CM. Hyypia comes in for VVD and Grobbelaar starts in goal. I'd love to have seen a front 4 of Tories, Suarez, Salah and Mane playing together at their peak
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Typo. Obviously they would be on the right wing

                            No Mascherano?

Plus has to be Grobbelaar in goal not Alisson ... yet.

The whole idea was to get other people to pick their own teams
