8 promotions in 30 odd years of management. Him and Bruce are your goto managers to get promoted to the Premier League, it's a feat that can't fairly be sniffed at!
He may argue it's an unfair typecasting, like Big Sam, but through design or circumstance, with the tools at their disposal they haven't managed to get their lower level teams playing football that would translate to a top club.
Rogers, Pochetinho, Howe etc have managed to do just such a job and is why they have or will get the chance to try at a bigger club with higher ambitions than survival in a top league."that is my opinion and that is more important than what anyone else has to say about it" - Mr A.Fergusson, Oct 2011

To be fair to him, he was sacked by a number of clubs after he got them promoted to the Premiership because he was and is seen as not a Premiership Level manager. He's obviously a dick, but he knows what he is doing and has to be considered one of the best English managers in the game over the past 20 years, I would say. Successful clubs do play a certain way most of the time, and that's why managers at the lower end, who are able to get their teams to play attractive football, get picked for bigger and better jobs.

Football is the winner if LFC win that league but because football is so tribal and City have no history, we don't seem to have much support outside our own fanbase. I suppose so much success over the years breeds envy. Maybe other fans don't have any feelings about City because they were nobodies for so long. At least City had integrity before that bought everything, blank cheques, tapping up, scandals & cheating doesn't seem to bother City supporters or supporters of other clubs that want LFC to lose more than City to win. I'm actually surprised how much vitriol there is about us potentially winning the league.
As for City fans, I don't think they can get over how much we are matching them this season. Everyone looks at City with so many top players, the manager they wanted, blitzing teams, scoring for fun, amazing football but their fans can't understand why we are still right there... it's actually brilliant they just can't comprehend it. Maybe they'll still win, maybe football will be the loser in the end but it's been a long time since our fanbase has had this excitement and togetherness.
Forget Cardiff, doesn't matter who they put out.. City will still beat them. The United and Spurs games are the ones imo. The United fans I know are in a bit of a quandary. Get some result at City or potentially losing out on a champs league place which would be hugely detrimental for them as a top club & of course financially. Them dropping points before City game but still being in touch is essential. They have to have a glimmer of hope, something to play for to give City a game.
Chelsea winning at Cardiff was probably a blessing in disguise as the competition for champs spots is so tight. Hopefully Arsenal win tonight aswell, ramp up the pressure. Wolves away tough game for mancs, Wolves have 5 days between the cup game so hopefully they go full strength. Spurs dropping more points is also a blessing as now they have been dragged right back into the race. I hope City knock them out of champs league and then they can get revenge in league game.
Argh my thoughts...I'm babbling now..bye
There's so much that could go against them that it'd be a big surprise if it all goes for them. On the contrary, we're playing an already relegated side and two safe sides, one of whom has the FA Cup in their sights. Soton and Cardiff wont have enough to stop us. Ideally Brighton lose their semi and have to go all in in their league game against City on the final day. As a bet, I'm going to that game full kit ****** in Brighton gear with an LFC shirt underneath if anything rides on the game and we're still in the chase
You make a good point about Chelsea keeping pace but unfortunately that acts against us a touch as we have to face them. Mixed feelings about Spurs losing the CL to them, I'd actually prefer Spurs to knock them out to deflate them.
Wouldn't it be lovely if all City won was the Carabou

A bigger worry for me was Sarri getting sacked if they lost to Cardiff and him going having a similar effect to Mourinho leaving United. I was delighted when they won yesterday. We should hammer them at Anfield in their current state.Originally posted by Norbs View Post

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It was lucky for us he missed.Originally posted by rudedog View PostCity missing the Pen wasn't luck on our part - it was just them being ****.
Also very luck with that freak goal from sturridge at Chelsea.
Also our goal at West ham was a mile offside.
We have had some massive breaks that without them would paint a very different picture.
We also meekly earned a point at Everton and Utd when they were there for the taking.
I'm not trying to brush aside a great season, the lads have put in a tremendous effort just wouldn't bet on similar results next year if we play in a similar manner.
Hopefully bag the title, nerves and expectational pressure is shelved and we go on to have a great next 5 years.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

That's probably why he's doing it, the closest he can get to revengeOriginally posted by Pablo View PostThe prick that still moans to this day about us playing a weakened team in a dead rubber years ago.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
